Well is there a use of having a hybrid vehicle in Pakistan? I like hybrid because of their good fuel mileage and versatility. Or should I just go for City or Axio etc. Budget of around 16-20 lacs.

Insight is quite attractive and few, prius is too common ... If the new shaped prius was in your budget than it was far much better than insight but in 20 lacs budget, insight would be best imo.
I guess the features will be more than prius as honda is almost always better than toyota's. i have no idea about the mileage.
Google it out. Prius first gen is better than insight. I own a honda but when its hybrid , prius leads.

i had driven prius 40000 kms and seriously it was really worth driving and got around 21km/ltr with harsh driving
You should get Honda Insight since its a newer model i.e 2010. The price for a 2007 Prius is the same as 2010 Insight.
Chances are you can get a low mileage Insight easily..but finding a low mileage 2007 prius is nearly impossible.
I dnt know from where u can find any part of insight while prius parts are slowly slowly available

I think Prius is better than insight as is 15 and 1800 cc while insight is just 1400 cc so insight may have issue of under power.
both cars have different technologies....honda has IMA while prius uses a HSD or hybrid synergy drive. now here is the main difference;
in IMA, the electric motor is there to "assist" the engine maintain speed which is under 40kmph, anything over that the gasoline engine will come to life. Also starting from a 0, the car will always use the gasoline engine since the electric motor is not powerful enough to pull the car on its own..
on the contrary, the HSD has the electric motor which can push the car from zero to a reasonable speed and can maintain it there until either the car runs out of juice or the speed crosses limits of the electric motor.
this way, prius can be more fuel economical.
Prius is better in most cases but significantly more expensive than insight if you compare prices of same model freshly imported cars of similar grade and mileage

Prius is the best hybrid car. In 20 lakhs you can get old shape but 2011 model fresh import. Better import yourself than buying from junk dealing showrooms.

I own a Honda Insight and I love it , because its fun to drive and it doesn't feels heavy at all like Prius!
Prius has a very old shape and interior , everything is of green colour which annoys sometimes.
Prius may be better in milage but surely a boring car to drive compared with Insight ! (Thats not what I am saying , most of the reviewers said the same thing)
Insight still has a con which is insufficient headroom for people taller than 6 feet @ backseats

Bro go for Insight! Prius new shape is out of your budget, the old one is too common and it's design is somewhat ugly no offence..!!
If I talk about local market trends. Both are good cars in terms of fuel savings. Both have there pluses and minuses.
But more + and little - for Prius
The numbers shows truly a wide difference. People are attracted to Prius and the phenomena is world wide. Prius is always been the bench mark for other Hybrid cars. Again its personal choice and preference and budget too which plays an important role. In your case you have a number and you need to look for a car to fit in. I am sure we have members with Prius as well as Insight ownership and they can share their thoughts.
