Plz suggest a good radiator mechanic

I would appreciate if someone from islamabad/ rawalpindi can suggest a good radiator mechanic in the twin cities.

Secodly does an auto transmission needs replacement parts after certain mileage like a manual transmission besides the routine servicing i.e oil change, filter cleaning change etc.

dude do u wanna get customized radiator? or just fixing a routine leakage thingy ... goto gwalmandi and there u ll find one cheap and good stuff

for transmission i guess u have to change the oil... also check the user guide for more info such as clutch + pressure plates, etc

I wanted a good radiator mechanic because i may need to build a customized one. The one installed in my car is leaking at the top; i think it may need replacement. I went to one mechanic in sultan da khoo; he checked the radiator for some 5 hours n said its okay. It started leaking again after a week.

I know gawalmandi n sultan da khoo r flooded with these guys but if someone could tell an already tried n tested mechanic; it would be fine. U see i will be saved of the tiresome experimenting phase:)

well there is one in vicinity of waseem autos by name of "kala". he is good but over priced somehow. I just got a new radiator for my cultus which is dual layer etc.. and cost me around 2400.

There's a guy in chah sultan by the name of kala radiator wala........... i wonder why all these radiator guyz have this name lol..... but the guy is good so you can pay him a visit..... when you are going from isl to pindi.......... after chandni chowk... go straight...cross the rawal road signal, keep left, there would be a left turn after central hospital... after turning left keep going straight ... you would see a radiator shop on the right...... that's the guy......... he sit's outside ahata mubarak.........

Thank u guys for your help! Really appreciate it. I went to Haji Rafiq in saddar yesterday to get the radiator fixed. Hash4u suggested the place. Neat job done. The plastic top was busted so replaced it with a copper one.

Bad job done, when I bought my Civic it had a copper top and later to my dismay I found out the the Copper top heats up and inturn increases the temp of the water inside hence raising the Car Temp that is why PLASTIC is used it does not heat up thus keeping the temp of the water inside to a min

In my humble opinion the function of the radiator is to transfer heat of the engine to air. Copper is better conductor of heat as compared to Plastic so it will dissipate more heat into air; thus better for engine. Plastic top is only used for safety of person touching the top of radiator as it doesn't feel too hot as a copper one would do.

Forgot to add another information regarding the radiator cap. Old cap had deformed rubber seals so i wanted to get a genuine one made by ND Japan which was worth rs 550. The mechanic suggested to buy a pakistani radiator cap made by SNA Industries, Islamabad. This one costed just Rs 75 so i was skeptical of its quality. As genuine one was not available at the time so thought to give this one a try. Looks of good quality but wasn't sure if it would work on correct pressure rating of 13kg/cm2. So did a little search on the net and found out that S. N. A. is a leading manufacturer of Brake Hose Assembly, radiator cap and other parts. They have reputed intl customers like Range Rover, Fiat, Mazda for OEM supplies.

I don't know if this cap would work like that of ND Japan but it sure is better than the fake japanese brands (with only japs written on them) sold for a much higher price.

If something made in pakistan is of good quality we should support it.

If a new radiator is available for your car then go with it. Fixing leaking radiators is just a waste of money. Furthermore, fix what actually caused the leak. Was it poor maintenance like using tap water instead of coolant? Does the engine overheat? Or is the radiator just plain old like 7 years or more?
