When I was a trainee for civil defense, I remember having a lecture by the Mtorways Police Mobile Education van. (This is project by NM&HP in which they teach safety tips to people, its very interesting and enjoyable, I suggest arranging a lecture at the next PW GTG).
They told to always recite the dua. They said, if sometime you meet an accident you just remember you'd forgotten to recite the dua at the start of your journey.
But still, dua is only one of many factors. Dua is not a seatbelt, it is not an argument for reckless driving.
You can treat is as the final seal and God bestowings upon your responsible acts, just for THAT thing that can go awry. It is not a replacement for all the other factors.
Always wear a seatbelt and drive responsibly. Take care of yourself and others.
