Happy to know that you are going to visit RYK.
RYK is a small city, so you will be disappointed if you think of any activity or visitng places like in big cities.
However a little scope of outing I can suggest you are as follows

1: Go to desert (ROHI) in early morning and feel the nature. Watch rising of sun and the beauti of nature.

2: If possible spend a night in desert. (Although these are not the days for such activities, yet its an adventure). Feel the blessings of Allah. I assure you it will be golden night of yours life.

3:in ROHI, there are many lakes.you can decide to visit them or even you can go for fishing at lakes/ Naala. However some local person should be with you for these activities. As usually these areas are supervised by military or para military forces. However they don't interrupt usually.

4: Go for PUNJNAD HEAD, about 100 KMs from RYK towards Khanpur teseel of RYK.Road condition is excellent. so it would take Max 2 hours of drive. watch Rivers of Punjab hugging each other.

5: You can visit MOO MUBARAK FORT about 12 KMs away. although in ruined condition. still you can spend your a little time their. watch lush green country side of Rahimyar khan.

6: Go to PATTAN MINARA, about 6 KMs from RYK. its a tiny but historical place built many centuries ago.

7: Go to Guddoo Barage in sindh. it will take about 2 hrs of drive. Becarefull of Sindh Police.

8:You can visit Mighty Indus River at Bangla Ichha. its near JDW and 60 KMs from RYK. it would take an hour of drive. Enjoy nature and Might Indus. If you are lucky enough to find BOAT BRIDGE there. Then cross it. You will enjoy MUD TRACK of about 20 KMs. Enjoy driving there. After 20 KMs there are tombs of Mazari Sardars worth watching. Dont afraid . . .balouchs there are usually helping hands.

9:Go for BHOONG MASJID near BHOONG in Sadiq abad. it would also take an hour of drive. its very beautiful mosque built there. you can spend a little time there.

10: If you want to spend a day long . . .then go for DARAWAR FORT. its near AHMAD PUR SHARQIA near BAHAWALPUR. watch Amazing beautifully constructed Fort and fort mosque and Nawab's Tombs. It would take about 2 hours of drive.

11: Go for RYK Zoo, Although not in good condition.

12: Why dont you walk in markets/bazars? Although not as luxurious as in big cities, yet markets/bazars provides good information about the area. You can spend many hours walking happily in bazars.

Tomb of Palan Imam Bukhari in Ubauro Sindh Punjab Boarder.
Fauji Fertilizer Company Town Park in Sadiqabad.
Jamia Masjid Bhong( Mughal Empire built) in Bhong near the Indus River , Tourist Rest House there in Bhong.
Shiekh Zahid Palace in Rehimyar khan

Go to Chachran Sharif see Darbar Hazrat Khwaja Ghulam Farid and Floor 2010 Effects.

And try to east Sweet of Khanpur ( Desi pure Doodh key Pariay).

Good to know that u're planning to visit Rahim Yar Khan. I'm from Rahim Yar Khan but settled in Islamabad and then Oslo, Norway. But I sometime missed the time I spent in RYK. Last week I visit RYK as I came to PK and did BBQ with my close friends in desert (Rohi). It was awesome we spent 5hrs of night in deep desert. Im posting some pics of my trip in the end of this post.

I have the following suggestions for u.

Go to desert side, and further south towards border side. Its paved road u'l enjoy it.

Go to Bazar and u'll see almost every branded franchise is there, though its not an attraction for people visiting from urban cities but its good to know whats there and whats not.

Go to Bhoong Masjid, Panjnad Head and Pattan Manara. Though these places are at few kms from city.

Basif 1948 said very well about the area. I am tagging this thread.

One activity is spot on re walking in the streets and bazars. I have been doing this a number of times in the cities and towns where there was nothing to do. If you have wandering lust burning in your heart then you will really enjoy this activity...talking to people in the streets, window shopping, trying street food and what not. I still love stepping out of trains in deserted railway stations at night.

A traveller's soul can be satisfied at places where tourist's will feel bored.

I am a native resident of Rahimyar khan and it feels glad to see people from urban areas getting indulged in the beauty of outskirts. Anyone wanting to visit desert in rahimyar khan, have a fun night out with BBQ, coming with or without family or with friends to rahimyarkhan for a short span of time, do let me know. wow, very well narrated Badar.

when we visited RYK way back in dec 2015 as did a by road tour till Muree, for the first time. i was shocked to see that 90% shops at RYK is shatter less, either they close the glass door or have Jali wala shatter. it was opposite to Karachi where shops were closed with soo many things and Talaas.
