Hi im looking to buy a monoblock amplifier for 2 pioneer 309 svc's i have two options as under

  1. Pioneer GM-D9601
  2. Kenwood KAC-9106D

Im bit of confused which one should i go with. i dont want to go with any amp which is not CEA certified and with CEA certification they both r not very expensive amps they fall in my budget.

As par my knowledge my subs are 800 watt RMS both (400 RMS each) and 2800 Watt Peak (1400 watt each).

Pioneer GM-D9601: its 1200 RMS @ 1 ohm, 800 RMS @ 2 ohm, 500 RMS @ 4 ohm and peak power 2400 watt (the only concern for me about pioneer amp is it only have gain and freq knobs for adjustments)

Kenwood KAC-9106D: Its 1000 RMS @ 2 ohm, 500 RMS @ 4 ohm and peak power 2000 Watt (this amp have LPF, Bass bost, ISFfrequency (i have no idea what ISF is) and sensitivity knobs for adjustments)

I looking to have advise which one should i go with. Thank you for your help, advise and time :)in advance.......

Regards

Faraz

Kenwood is better because ur subs are SVC if they were DVC then Pioneer would have been better! Still u can use Pioneer and run the subs at their full potential and the amp will be happy as well!

If I were buying I would go with Pioneer for a long lasting setup instead of those extra 200 rms!

thanks for your help krieger i was thinking tha same thing but when i saw the pics on amp this is what i found

Pioneer:
only 2 knobs for adjustments gain and cut of freq

Kenwood:
have many knobs to adjust settings...

what do u suggest?

All these settings are already present in any good head unit! We usually don't even use the 2 on pioneer since all the settings are done directly on the head unit!
Just don't forget to buy a head unit with at least 2 RCA, 3 is even better!

thanks for your help and time..... im using pioneer 8300UB headunit its 3 rca output 2 volts

Yes ur head unit has all the filters and stuff u need! And it is 4 volt rca

thanks friend for your help so i will get pioneer amp thanks for your help.

Go for pioneer 9601 , it's better than kenwood . You will still have more power if you plan to add more powerfull subs later on

9601 hands down. Small footprint, clean rms, low heat, better circuitry and less power hungry than kenny

How much do these amps cost??? Have a look at Kenwood x11D, if they are still available in market and your budget permits for it...

I hv d9601 fr sale if u need contact me

You can get RF p1000, Memphis M class, PG RSD 12001, PG Z500, Alpine M6, HK CA1500.
If you can stretch than JL HD series are great amps, also PPI can fall in your range as well. More big names are there but it will cost a fortune.
