we had a huge number of taxis that ran on lpg... why is this considered a new concept

But the main point is the LPG is not cheap either plus it won't give you more millage like CNG...
for example:
If car gives in 1 Litre petrol about 12 Kms
than same car with lpg gives you 13 Kms
but with CNG it will give you 16-17 kms per KG.

LPG won't harm your engine buddy.. see those taxis that run on LPG they seem to be going on and on despite their crappy engines and rattling body..

But the main point is the LPG is not cheap either plus it won't give you more millage like CNG...
for example:
If car gives in 1 Litre petrol about 12 Kms
than same car with lpg gives you 13 Kms
but with CNG it will give you 16-17 kms per KG.

you can see the statistical consumption cost ratio.
A LPG cylinder if full with up to 50liters of gas and costs around 55Rs. per liter.
the total cost would be 55x50=2750
the mileage given is 600 km therefore 2750 divided by 600 = 4.60 Rs. approximately.
better than CNG.
Full tank with 9 Kg gas 79x9= 711
mileage per tank 135 km so 5.30Rs Approximately.
But keeping in mind that to complete a 600 km journey you will be needed to fill the cylinder at least 5 times. so 711x5= 3500 Rs. approximately.
You can clearly see the difference that what fuel is economical.

And to take other factors into account that the LPG does not harm the engine and does not cut its peak performance.. whereas on CNG you get both.

There was time when CNG was available at only 5 filling stations in Karachi. I have personally seen that. So as with the passage of time there will be no inconvenience in refilling you LPG storage.. And this filling outlet shown in the picture explains my point too.. These filling outlets won't require you to dismount your cylinder for refueling. We are living in a technological era and you are still talking about the dismounting of the cylinder. LPG technology has improved over the years and is currently unmatched with the old school LPG conversion we have here in Pakistan. The world has flourished on this fuel.

We heard in the past that LPG fuel is going to be available at fuel stations / dispensers like CNG however, it hasnt happened. Anybody knows the progress on this? Is something in the pipeline?

Conversion to LPG is much cheaper than CNG, plus CNG has tremendous pressure which LPG don't have, it is liquid like Petrol.

1300cc kilometers in 1 kg of CNG = 12??? r they kidding me? my car does around 20kms in a kg of gas EASILY...LPG might have its own advantages but CNG is certainly the cheapest fuel available...

Well that 15km/kg of CNG is the average mileage. But there are two point

1 when the LPG is available for 65/kg mostly its available at 125+
2 They have mentioned that it is the most environment friendly being a petrol derivative, if petrol is not environment friendly than how can its derivative be environment friendly

@hoomayon, SSGC LPG is looking for investors who want to set up LPG/Autogas filling stations (look here). I have been following developments in LPG ever since SSGC LPG began advertising to influence the mindsets of people and make the market more accepting toward it.

I was thinking the same thing... LPG 65 ki to nahin... current rate is 114... I don't think its feasible at all.

read again.. its 65/L not 65/KG. LPG is marketed in litres. liquified gas.

Something is confusing here... isn't the gas in gas cylinders LPG??? u know like shell gas and others... bcoz they sell it according to KG's and not litres...
