Yesterday, alhamdolillah, I had my dream come true of flying yesterday. This was made possible by my friend, experienced mountain climber and para pilot, Ahsan Haider, who flies with a Lahore based club, Flying Pakistan.

I had been meaning to join Ahsan in his flights for a long time, but could not, due to hectic office routine and family commitments. Paragliding is usually done in Pir Chinasi or Khanpur, both of which involve at least a day of traveling, among other arrangements, which I could not manage. So when I received a text from Ahsan that his Club is organizing tandem flights near Multan Road, at NFC 2. I requested him to arrange a tandem flight for me too. Luckily for me, Ahsan accepted. I went there around 4 pm, and got an opportunity of a lifetime. Here are some of the pictures. I hope you would like them.

wow... amazing!!! for a long time i have been dreaming about having a free fall experience. Like sky diving or sumthing. Hopefully i ll do it some time in this year... love ur pix and ur courage... do post more pix... and let us know how they prepare u for the flight...

Ahmad Sb, thanks for the encouragement. They tell you about take off, landing, negotiating the harness, etc. As you would see in the video, once it is uploaded, there was nothing much to it really, since I was just a passenger.

I see that you are in Dubai, once you are in Lahore, do make an appointment with Flying Pakistan, if you want to prepare for a Paragliding license. God bless.

Please mention how much u paid for a single flight and what was the duration of the flight + approximate height ?

I bet you were supplied with a xxl large adult pamper as well. Good job! I have always dreamt of doing base jumping or at least parachute jumping. Never had the money or time :frowning:

I paid 4k and the duration of the flight was about about 30 mins. The height achieved was about 2000 feet.

Faiz, as you could see from my bateesi throughout, there wasnt a moment of fear, alhamdolillah. I had expected a rough landing but it was smooth as silk. The pilot was great and I was well informed before the flight, so I was prepared for the trip.

The flight is not very costly, if flying is your passion. I'm not a rich guy myself but this seemed an opportunity of a lifetime - that too, previously available abroad only. I have yet to meet anyone who has done tandem paragliding in pakistan.

I hardly recommend this to anyone who has ever dreamed of flying.

Zabardust!! That looks like a gud bit of fun!! I'd certainly do that whenever possible... The closest thing to this in UAE is SkyDive Dubai. Jumping from a plane, thats more adventurous but need more guts :slight_smile: I am glad there are people like you in Pakistan who have such interests. This type of activities are healthy and give a gud name to the country...
