P0340 cam shaft postion error

Dear pakwheeler i need a expert opinion for my corolla se saloon 2004 model 1.6 3zz-fe. Recently my car tensioner pulley was broken while driving and i have replaced it with a kabuli one bit since then there is a new knocking sound appear yesterday while i was using well i show to mechince they said engine is old and some one said its need to be replace etc. Well one day after long driving car i noticed in morning a face a hard start but the next morning as usually start normal yesterday agian i went a long drive using my OBD II device when i reached home i search for fault code a P0340 CAM shaft position sensor bank 1 circuit code appear and today i agian face a hard start well i clear the fault code after that i drive for about 8 km and agian checked the code but not code appear. Now i need assistance that should i replace cam shaft position sensor, belt or reluctor ring or open the timing chain cover. One thing more when tensioner pulley was damage first of all i just change bearing of it and adjust belt but when car start the belt go side i drive few days after and consult mechine at last i change complete pulley

Try by replacing cam sensor first, then crank sensor.

Can u tell me and crank sensor location one in. Under tappet cover behind injector harness and where is other one

its. below and back side of engine on left side where timing chain is going till end. last month i replaced mine too in 2nzfe. right tyre hata k samnay shield hata k ajaega bahar ek nut pe laga hota hai and going towards crank shaft. when crank moves it gives signal to computer. i bought it qabli used one from here in Karachi cost me 1000 rs

Yes bro, Not Compulsory, Ap ek Sensor Change karo jiska Error hai, And yes if its Dead or making problem to Car will take long self to Start and Sometimes misfire blast too and Sometimes alot of other issues, Change the Crank Shaft Sensor 1st and then see the Result. get a new one or qabli one its up to you, new cost much more,

Qabli one is good too i am using it and working fine, the guy said ager nai chalay to wapisi dedena so i had warranty too

BRO CAM SHaft arha hai to Change CAM Shaft one wo head k pass hai Right Side pe PCV valve k neechay ki Side wo Change kareng then, Crank Wala nai karen if error nai hai to.

I was Also getting Same Error, So When i Cleaned the Sensor and put it back the Error went away and didnt came till now

Faizan bahi I have checked cam shaft sensor wiring harness was disconnected and bought new grip didn't change sensor now what you say should I check crankshaft sensor and knocking sensor. There is a sound in my engine I uploaded a video in YouTube can u help me out check the video

okay if the wire was broken it should be fine now. the error must be gone.

if you are getting no Check Engine light then Dont change any Sensor now.

Further more the Noise is of like TIming Chain, VVTI Gear, Chain Tensioer . that kar kar kar kat kat kat sound is there .

I bought 7month before this car I cng was installed but disconnected I don't no he disconnected for sale but in start as it was in cng I used 20w-50 in two oil change but some pakwheel fellow suggested me to use recommend oil which is 5w-30 10w-30 but I used 10w-40 in this oil change moreover I check daily oil but I didn't noticed yet that oil is consumed

If 10w40 is Consuming use 20w50 Havoline. i am using 20w50 Havoline
