Old book driving license Renewal

AOA everyone! My father has an old book driving liscence issued by Karachi excise back in 1990s. We used to renew it through Islamabad post office. Now they have said it cannot be renewed. I checked on Sindh Driving liscence website and no data exist against my father CNIC. Can someone guide me the procedure of converting old book driving liscence into new smart card one? and Can I get it in other city ? as we are living permantantly in Islamabad. Thanks

am sure your father being a senior citizen can drive to to NHMP driving license office with his book license. He will get a NHMP license after eye sight test and a written test, NHMP is most civilised driving licensing centre in Pakistan. They treat people with respect specially the mature & senior citizens.

Otherway around is to visit Karachi Clifton driving license office with the book license. If license is over 5 years old there will some penalty. The DSP Incharge may be approached for review.

The eye sight test and record verification will take 60 to 90 minutes time, then process is 15 minutes only. A slip for new license will be issued, card license will be delivered by TCS over the cnic address.,
Incase the address is different or no longer valid, after 11 days you may visit TCS centre for failure to deliver at section at Karachi airport hajj terminal and collect in person with cnic copy.

There is no other way out, at every license renewal eye sight test has been made mandatory since 2021 across Pakistan. (loop holes are always there to be exploited)
