Hello everyone,

After browsing through the FBR website and crawling all over the web I thought I could ask this really simple question "How to get an NTN number?", I'm sure most of you know and could help me out here.

So basically I'm looking forward to lease a car. Spoke to the bank fellows and along with the other basic stuff they asked for an NTN number. They pretty much convinced me that getting a new car on lease is a piece of cake. So I jumped over to the FBR website and found out I can register online through a platform known as IRIS, once I did that, things got very confusing. I see there is a form (181 Registration) and some applications and alot of other stuff. If any one can tell me what to click or fill in, what to submit and can I really get my NTN through this method?

Any help will be highly appreciated guys!

Thanks in Advance

Ryan

you need to contact an income tax lawyer in your town. some basic papers needed are:

  1. your bank account information - certificate from bank branch with account opening date
  2. business / residential utility bill
  3. rental agreement & landlord' cnic copy in case of rental premises
  4. biometric verified cell phone number
  5. working valid email address

Its pretty simple.. just go to e.fbr.gov.pk and click on e-enrolment, u will be redirected to iris, now click on registration for unregistered person, u will provide the required details and after some days will get a confirmation email that your registration has been approved. Now again go to same portal and click on e enrolment for registered persons, give the required details, once u submit u will receive user id and password which u will use to log on iris, only then u will be able to file ur return.

yes bro, there r many minor details which should be filled only by professionals, so i recommend u to get service of professional tax lawyer who deals in taxation, if u need, inbox me i will send u some good ones but most important is your city

I have tried and stuck! its not much complex form to input but its not very user friendly very poorly desinged and if its stuck on one page, it cant progress further and you can not start fresh it will give an error another application with same NIC number under process! So you basically end up stuck!
It might only be me as I tried to register as non resident and it shattered not accepting a non Pakistan address  though it disables the correct form fields but keep validating city and districts!

I believe as public sector problem with service delivery they want everyone to visit their offices and grease some palms to get done anything.

anyone got NTN online? which will be CNIC in the end! any non resident 0 filers here?

When i applied last year process was much simpler, you have to submit few of the details, they will then send you an email with a confirmation of recieving application and after a week period they will provide you with NTN number. In order to recv NTN certificate (that usually not needed ) you have to go to your RTO (select one that is nearby to your location)providing some docs like bank statement utilities bills along with your cnic copy.. i was too lazy to go and to collect certificate..and till now not been asked anywhere... You dont need any legal advisers for NTN, though you can get it through them by paying 500 to 1000 rs
