Nissan B12 advice needed

I've a B12 Nissan Sunny, with a GA15DE efi 1500cc 16 valve The car engine is blowing white smoke from the oil cap and the exhaust, it's dense too
I need advice on a couple of things.
1. Need a proper reliable mechanic who knows Nissan engines.
2. Should I look to overhaul this engine or find a replacement. If yes what's the average cost of getting it overhauled.
3. Is the original carburetor engine swap better or should I look for an efi engine. (running on a budget that's relatively low)
4. What places are the best to get Nissan work done

what is maintenance history of vehicle. as in engine oil class and change interval, etc etc.

locate a shop which can perform compression test WET & DRY both.

Nissan GD engines with timely maintenance are long haul truck class engine with half million mile life before they give up.

I got the car recently and I'm unaware of the history of the vehicle, the car is running on purely jugaar from what I can see. Many sensors disconnected and the wiring needs a redo most probably.
The city is rawalpindi. The car came with an automatic transmission which has a serious gear changing issue. It changes the gear with a jerk at 5000 ish rpms. 60km/h plus speed
The cable used for the gear change was very loose. I got it looked at and the mechanic tried that it would become functional somehow. Cleaned the chamber, replaced the oil..it still wouldn't work.
I'm looking to change it to manual.

Yes ga15de can be rebuilt. And a good overhaul will cost you around 80-90k including parts, labour, lubes & machining. However if you tend to buy a engine head assembly that is around 90-100k a good Japanese assembly. Overhauled engine can pull around 150-200k or even more. Kabli assembly can pull 50-60k and then the oil ring or valve seals will require maintenance & the used parts since have a life so these engines require part replacement to pull good miles on it.

Engine swap with QG15 is perfect for it but that's gonna cost you around 170-180ish which is alot considering overhaul and head assembly swap.

Rest you can plan a visit, we are well aware of Nissan systems & it's electronics.

Since I'm on a budget, would you recommend going towards the orignal carburetor engine, with a manual transmission with my old setup traded in. Any idea how much would that cost and is it a viable option?
My budget is around 100k to get the mechanical work done
