NGK Iridium IX or G-Power Platinum for Steermatic

hope everyone is well.

I wanted to change the spark plugs of my City Steermaitc (on petrol). I searched the forum and came to the conclusion that NGK Iridium IX (9 series) is the one to go for. But as I checked from the market, some guys suggested that the plugs recommended for Honda are 5 series whereas NGK Irridium does not come in 5 series. Instead I was recommended to go for G-Power Platinum (5 series).

So please advise ??

P.S my car has almost completed 10000 KMs

i suggest you change your plugs at around 18K~20K,,, cause they still have life left in them. rest is upto you

Thanks @AkbarGr8, I was about to take the car for 10000 chekup and wanted to change the plugs.

in continuation to the above, I would like to add and ask that I was told that the heat rating for Honda is 5 therefore 5 series plugs should be used rather than 9 seires i.e. Iridium IX. So please suggest ??

Whoever told you about the heat range of the plugs is wrong, cause the recommended plugs for I-DSI are BKR6E-11 and ZFR6K-11 for steermatic and as you can see both of them are rated as "6", and please dont put platinum plugs in your car.

Alwayz Check For Heat Range Before Putting ANy Kind of performance or other brands plugs...!
it might match Factory spec heat range or you end up making Combustion Chamber so hot or so cold which is not good....!
Alwayz check for heat range and match it with you Factory spec plug range...!

as per the honda manual, plugs are to be changed at 20K km,,, any ways @Ghuncha saw the plugs that i had removed at 19K, and he said they could have run another 10K KM...so i guess you can easily take them till 20K.... as far as the 5/6 series scene is concerned, i have no clue

yar i have replaced plugs of my steermatic at 19000km from honda classic I/9.. for the very first time they opened the plugs , FACTORY fitted the plugs i.e [b]ZFR6K-11,,n the guyz who were doing job of replacing the plugs wid I-DSI,s one .I argue wid them tht these r not steermatic plugs they said we install these ones, they called the chief mechanic he also said the same thing ,,,,nothing gonna happen wid these plugs then i open the owners manual,, n show him the difference ,in manual.. he n i then go to the parts counter n asks for the same plugs ZFR6K-11,, THE guy in the parts counter said there r ACCORD,s plug ,, i said install these ones coz these r fitted by the factory ,,
they r giving I-DSI,s plugs for rs 180 each
n they give me these plugs for 475 each
i install the xpensive ones coz i cant conprmise in performance,,, pic r below of these plugs n pages in manual.

Hey man where did you find those plugs, I have been looking all over the place for them. I went to the NGK dealer and even he didnt have a clue where I could get them and you're right about Honda, they were offering I-DSI plugs for steermatic..

PS The malaysian and Japanese steermatic comes equipped with IZFR6K-11, where the I stands for Iridium..

as pointed out by @memphis, ZFR6K is not iridium it is a regular/ standard plug, where as the manual suggests to us irudium plugs. If these are not available in NGK then has anyone checked for a DENSO?

Dont get confused now, actually the manual states that the steermatic comes with ZFR6K-11 for Pakistan and India which is a standard plug but even that is not available in the market easily (atleast i couldnt find it at Plaza), secondly the same car comes equipped with IZFR6K-11 in Malaysia and Philippines which is the Iridium variant of the same plug we have in our cars.

So the point is that you can replace your car's plugs (ZFR6K-11) with the NGK Iridium IX if it has similar dimensions to the above mentioned plugs.

sumbuddy was telling me tht ZFRK6-11 r iridium plugs

if these r not plzz tell me ... i want the iridium in my steermatic ..which one is best??

well the recommended iridium plugs for the steermatic are IZFR6K-11 however its highly unlikely that you'll ever find those here, what you can do is that you can get something similar to them or get the recommended ones from abroad..

you can get this one here (BKR6EIX-11) which is very similar to IZFR6K-11..
