Need your advise regarding Lancer 1992-1994!

I want to buy a Mitsubishi Lancer 1992 OR 1994. Anyone who has owned this car please tell me its goods and bads. Specially resale trend and availability of spare parts. I really liked the shape of this car and somebody told me its a lot better than Corrolla and Civic because they both also dont have resale value that much and the performance of Lancer is much better than Corrolla and Civic. Please advise me. Thank you in advance.

As far as i know,its spare parts are way too expensive & this is only its main drawback.

great car and phenomenal chassis. parts are a bit of a pain to source but they ARE available (but yes they can be expensive)

Truly a gr8 car as in terms of body and driving.The only flaw is spare parts r expensive and no other option left like buying cheap replicas.

good car if found in orignal good condition but as far as i have experienced, hard to find one... resale is not good...

As far as i know corrolla and civic both have better resale than lancer in pakistan...

main reason for poor resale is becaus the car never caught on (mainly due to expensive parts back in the 80's & 90's) and that is why demand was low (and supply was high) therefore the prices now are still low (great to get a good deal).

cheapest possible parts in second hand market. Taiwanese and malaysian etc are also available and not very expensive. If u wanna buy japanese then its expensive

Thank you for the replies. I think in Karachi, Shershah is the place where all the parts of Lancer are available. I am not sure about their price but they are available and if found used parts (reconditioned ones) then they are may be cheaper. But am I right in saying that Lancer is better than XLI and Civic EXI in terms of performance and comfort? even Lancer's 94 model??? Its hard to believe to me...

yes it is better in terms of comfort and performance. drive one and u will find out why.

comfort is about the same as Civic EXi & MUCH better than the rolla XLI, but performance is about the same.

I think Mitsubishi lancer is great car but is expensive parts the only reason for it not picking up in Pakistan...

guys, do you think that in Shershah its parts will be available or even there I will be required to search for it? and do you have idea that how long its parts will last, I mean Lancer is one of the cars which doesn't ask for spare parts too quickly. And because the parts are geniune, they lasts long. Have your say please.

i had 1990 model lancer for around six year. and i really enjoyed each and every moment with her.
its parts are really expensive( Japanees one). malasian and taiwan parts are relatively affordable. and one in normal condition does not require parts frequently.

i got its engine overhauled once and it costed me around 18000 rupees. and 1 intresting thing that you can find its kable engine in 15000 rupees.

one more example once my father got a minor accident and side mirror was broken. new one was coasting me 3000 rupees from karachi. but i got kabli in 500 rupees. same was the case with other parts.

there is a thing called 'Driving Pleasure'......this is what one get from lancer. drive one and feel it.

after selling lancer 1990 i was in hunt of another good condition lancer. and thanx to Allah that i have got one in june this year from karachi. after a long .....long search. its lancer 1994 model. imported from japan. i am very happy with it. and again enjoying every moment with it.

Can you tell me that at what amount did you purchase the Lancer 1994 and is it the same shape as 1992 and 1993?how is it running on CNG and what milage does it give on CNG. Secondly, is lancer suitable for long travles from one city to another? I hope you will respond the same way.

otherwise there is no match of this car with corolla and suzuki

I am about to purchase 1994 Lancer and looking forward to renovate it, but not really sure about my decision.
