Need Expert Advice

Hi, I'm trying to decide between two brands, Haval and Changan, and would appreciate your expert advice on which car to purchase:

Haval 1.5 Turbo
Changan X7 FutureSense
Please let me know if you have any other recommendations within this price range. Thanks!

X7 sounds nice!
It's powerful, massive, more or less the same features as it's competiter and has a lot more dealership presence compared to haval. Also I think it'll have comparatively better resale than 1.5T H6.

I have no personal experience with this but I think the H6 1.5T non hev might feel slightly underpowered.

GWM is the best selling SUV Brand in China.

Having driven both I prefer H6 1.5T, Haval might have fewer service centers but I think that wont be much of an issue.

The overall feel of the vehicle seems more solid & all H6 variants have good resale as well.

With that 1.5T engine of H6, do you think it'll perform nicely in the mountains with full load also considering the size of the car? I think it might struggle a little even if we take out the mountains from our made up scenario.

Power figures for X7 are very impressive and one's mind actually can believe that it'll do fine in the given scenario compared to it's competiter.

AND the 1.5T costs more than X7. Other than that, our views might differ. I don't mean to do fanboying over X7 by the way I just shared what made sense to me

I have driven both extensively so here are my few cents.

Salam I have a friend who just recently bought an Oshan X7. His younger brother has a Jolion. I have driven both vehicles extensively and here is my few cents. Oshan X7 is very torqy and an absolute pleasure to drive. I am talking about the FutureSense version which is a 5 seater (the 7 seater version called comfort comes with the same engine but a lot less features). My opinion is on comparison of X7 with Jolion. I have driven the H6 as well. The H6 is an amazing vehicle and is feature packed. Between Oshan X7, Jolion and H6 the H6 is the best option.

We recently did a tour to Astore and Minimarg on the X7 and got into a beef with a Revo while ascending towards Babusar top from Chillas side. The Revo guy was pushing like hell but we overhauled him on the steepest of climbs and it was amazing. The bits I mentioned about lack of grab handle for front passenger and difficult to maintain interior have been addressed by Changan. Another issue with Oshan X7 is that the headlamps are bad and visibility is poor during night drives on motorway.

Haval H6: Power=147hp, torque=130N-m

Oshan X7: Power=185hp, torque=300N-m

Granted the Oshan is a bigger and heavier car but my guess is that the H6 may feel underpowered. Better to look at the H6 2.0

Good problem to have.

All depends on your final preference.

If you want a bigger car, more room, do more long road trips, I would say Oshan X7 with the radar ie future sense. Facelift is much better in terms of interior color. More dealerships countrywide.

H6 has some more features and might give a little bit more premium feel from inside. Not as big as Oshan. Less power than Oshan but it’s not underpowered, just that Oshan is a beast in terms of power. Bit better resale.

Up to you to decide.

For final decision sit inside both and do test drive of both from dealers.
