if you want to commute Between Hyderabad and Karachi on the said Lancer you need to check that the car is mechanically and electrically sound coz the road side mechanic wont be able to help! it is an Old car with people and mechanics don't understanding the very basics of it hence the low resale value and everything jugaad up! the engine is bullet proof if maintained properly and as per spec fiddling about it will cost you!
As for the drive pleasure you will literally enjoy the car if she is good! the cabin is spacious, if the ac is functional it is quite good, everything is available new or kabli at-least all the mechanical bit. cosmetic bits are very costly! The car is quite good body wise and has great grip and if tuned properly gives atleast 10 kmpl easily!
Confirm with your usual mechanic if he has knowledge about it. It is very easy to work on.
