Assalam o Alikum everyone....
I want to share my experience with The Mitsubishi mini Pajero... I own a m151 mutt so I am not new to the offroading scene. A family member of mine went overseas and gave me his mini Pajero for a few months to drive around and take care of. I was quite skeptical of the offroad capabilities of the mini Pajero mainly because of the fact it's a 660cc automatic kei car... With his permission I took it for some beach driving near Clifton... Mini Pajero blew away all my expectations and went flawlessly all I did was lowered tyre pressure to 20psi and engaged 4h.... It did great in loose and fine sand... I even helped a few people who were stuck in the sand by giving them a small push with a tow rope. To be honest I am starting to like the mini Pajero more than my m151 mainly because it is more comfy and perfect for some light to medium offroading.
My advice for all people who want to buy a small 4x4 would be to get a mini Pajero because it is comfy has both 4h and 4l it's a hard top jeep with AC and other comforts. The only downside is the fuel avg but if you drive with a light foot it gives good not great average. Potohar is a donkey cart. Jeeps like the CJ series Willy's and Mutts are heavy on maintenance and aren't practical unless you do some proper offroading. Jimny is super expensive. Mini Pajero falls in the perfect area it's not super expensive isn't that expensive to maintain is comfortable has many features. In my opinion it is a perfect grocery getter and great for 2 people and 2 kids to go to the beach once in a while or do some light offroading...

Bro that's nothing. One member from our group kept up with my LC80 and another members Prado all the way to the top of Kirtar range. BTW, it's not an easy drive at all because as you climb, even the tracks vanish and you have to choose your own line.

Dayum man that's impressive for a tiny kei car.... The fact that it's small lightweight helps it go almost anywhere

I spent about 8 months finalizing my decision to buy my first 4x4, and I choose Pajero Mini because of the features and comfort.

My advice is to get a newer model 2005+, maintain it. It's perfect off-road vehicle. I still have it, and the original engine has crossed 150k KM mark.

AOA, I recently purchased Mini Pajero 660CC Manual Turbo model 1995. Got it's Engine, gear box and rear differential changed from 7/43 to 9/47 inorder to maximize gear shifting timing.
So far everything is going great except it's fuel avg which is giving around 5.5KM/L with AC in a city.
Need your expert suggestion in some of the points like tubes of Vaccume solenoids going in the Air filter tunbe are missing. Vaccume solenoid fixed on left hand side of the body beside air filter box.

Also installed the tyres of Dunlop 195/65/R15

Pajero Mini 1995 - My first 4x4

Hello everyone, So I thought I start a new thread and post my first experience of owning a small 4x4 vehicle. I bought Pajero Mini 1995, manual model about 2 months ago. It was visually in good condition, no rust on chassis, engine is also good. But the gear box was leaking oil, and it was all drained out. I put some open market gear oil in gear boxes, it was 50% gone in just few days. So far I've replaced it headlights which were not original with hi-roof 100w ones, and broken break light…

Took me about 8 as well.
Then I bought a 2l swapped m151A2 in impluse.... After 5 months of owning that beast the fuel prices and maintenance became too much for me and I bought a mini Pajero and so far I'm happy

These engines while small have very bad fuel economy the older ones don't usually give more than 9..... Is your Pajero manual or auto?

Yes, the older ones are not so efficient. Mine is also around 9-10 average with moderate AC.

Hope you are well and healthy. In your opinion what mini paj should be bought for city use. With efficient fuel economy considering I would love to rework some carbon gunk from the engine and other stuff to relive the engine. I plan to use it for daily family commute i.e. 25 Km max per day. I am choosing mini paj because of the frequent rains and ease of driving.

If you want better fuel economy, this vehicle is not for it. The gear ratio is not made for efficiency, but for torque and low and high 4x4 function.

If you still want it and can afford its fuel average, then go for a recent model, 2005+ auto or manual. There are some Nissan Kix 2012 model I've seen, they are basically same Pajero Mini, Nissan took it from Mitsubishi in 2012. Avoid modified ones, with engine and gear swaps.
