AOA,
Is a used Mercedes C180/C200/C250 W204 worth buying. I need info, problems, maintenance cost of the above models. What should be the price of pre-facelift and facelift models in Lahore ? Can you take this car anywhere in Pakistan ? Does it have a good resale value and options of anyother cars of this class or this price range ? Kindly reply.

I have bought C180 Kompressor 2006 Facelift W203 with M271 engine. Its around 60000 KMs driven and every bit and part is in perfect condition. Maintenance is easy if you know how and when things end up. Recently after buying I came across the notorious problem of oil leakage in wiring harness via cam magnet connectors, updated wiring part is not available with anyone in Pakistan so importing it third-party is the only solution which is already done but until than I have made some makeshift juggar .
Secondly I am using it like corolla or city not something yar bari gari hai sirf weekends ya shaadi etc pe niklegi. I belong to worker class so i drive it like one . Also as Guru once put, pamper it and it will act like stupid cat. So driving it daily for chores is the best one could do.
Thirdly its Mercedes, mechanics charge high for maintainance which is fine under reasonable bracket as the approach to resolving a german problem is different than JDM vehicles.

W204 C180 has same engine and nearly similar interior. Buying price in Lahore is from 28 to 35 depending in condition. Lahore has qualified third party mechanics to handle these cars better than Shahnawaz even. For Pakistani roads never go for Sports version or benz with sports suspension or package as its lowered and stiff.

Thankyou all for your feedback. We were first planning to buy a Honda Vezel. We had liked both these cars but our final decision was to buy a Vezel due to it's crossover look but when we went to Naran, we saw many Vezel that were heating up. When we asked them they said Vezel has transmission issue and you have to take stops of 20-30 min to make it cool down. We had than cancelled buying Vezel. Now we are looking for a C class W204 (2007-2014).

What is the average cost of oil change of C class W204 ? Which is the best engine oil for it ? Are body parts available easily available?

What is the difference between 1.6 W204 C180 2010 and 1.8 W204 C180 2007-2009 ? Are there power output same ? Kindly also tell the fuel average of W204 (C180, C200, C250).

It takes 0W40 or 5W40 oil۔ C180 is 5.5L while C200 takes 6L and so on. Oil change interval is 8000kms to 12000kms. Oil Filter costs around 1000rs to 1800rs. Air filter is around 2500rs but is long lasting.
For known faults you can check TSBs technical service bulletin's by inserting your desired vehicles VIN number. Every car has some problems but these are rectified in different forms by factory using upgraded parts.

Any mercedes older than 5 years is highly unreliable and difficult to maintain. Thats the way they are designed, as most are leased and not owned.

German cars lose their value very quickly all over the world because the maintenance is very expensive. The vehicles are extremely well built and are designed to last and are well engineered.
