Mercedes Benz W212 E250 (Blue Efficiency) Coolant top up needed?

A realtives car is diplaying coolant warning for top up. Shahnawaz sells a liter of coolant for 2800 Rs.

Suggestion needed for a compatible coolant for top up or a place where we can buy mercedes benz recommended coolant.

For information, coolant is blue in colour and feels like an inch below recommended mark in expansion bottle.

If it's just an inch or two lower then use the distilled water.

And always use Mercedes recommended coolant.

The W212 probably uses the same coolant as specified for the W211. If its blue in colour as you described than it is available for 1200 rupees a litre. Am talking of genuine MB approved coolant

find yourself some Zerex G05, more easily just buy the genuine oldschool MB stuff

Boss the valvoline site states Zerex G05 colour as Yellow. car in question has a blue coolant. okay to go?

I'm not sure about the yellow stuff. I've seen the cars from US mostly with yellow color coolant, while all the gulf spec'd (European models, same as the one in Pak) cars with blueish/greenish color. If G5 really is compatible then you should flush the old one. MB original coolant usually lasts for around 2 years, assuming the car in question is not older than 2 years, I don't think it's time to change. Just add distilled water. You may not want to use the old school MB stuff as it was not made for aluminium engines.

You can ask someone you know coming from outside Pak to bring that blue one, OEM, it'll be around RS 1000/L. Part # 000 989 08 25/10

Car is 4 months old so i am being extra carefull. Just dont want to go to the stealers for such small job

Apni gaari hoti tou kar leta bhai! I will be attending to the car on saturday Inshallah, hav to make a decision by then. Till now, putting distilled water seems the safest.

The owner is undergoing a surgery (at this t ime while i am writing) to donate part of his liver to his mom. Car is badly neglected due to that issue at home.

Wheni saw the car it had two warnings, one was tyre pressure and other was coolant, got rid of the tyre pressure thing after fixing the tyre and resetting as per pwners manual. now working around this coolant thing.

Next service is due after 4k kms and he told me not to take the car to Shahnawaz for such small things.

One fine gentlemen also came with a theory that car needs retigtening/retorque of all bolts to stop coolant loss and maybe this is not done on first service.

Boss 1000 or 2000 is not the real issue, real issue is about the real thing which shahnawaz have, i have visited their whole workshop they are charging high but they are giving all the services according to the MB standards, By the way which tyre is fitted in you Merc Blue Efficiency?

there is a mb spare part shop near haathi chawk saddar.
kabar mai to roz chakar lagta hi hai. guzartay way check kar laina i am sure they would be keeping the coolants. because they used to keep mobil 1 at the shop when nobody else used to

MOST modern MB engines whether petrol or diesel use aluminium heads. And the oldschool stuff I said - is pretty much the same ranging from the 1985 upwards. And its best to use something that is compatible and easily found - just like the MB manual states

Checked that, they were out of stock

I have topped up with distilled water, it took 600ml and warning message is gone.

On next service Shahnawaz (The stealers) are supposed to do a full check so lets see what they come up with. Car is fine and no foam or solid materials are formed in expansion bottle

Just use any good quality coolant. Don't stress too much;)
