Salam everyone! So my father recently bought me a mark x 250G and i got its all oils changed recently but im a bit skeptical about engine oil so my question is that which liqui moly oil should i use? My mechanic( who hasnt worked with many mark xs) recommoned me to use vavoline 20W-50 but I heard that it is not the correct oil. So please guide me, ps my car is 121k driven

You claim that all oils were changed, but then claimed your mechanic suggested 20w50 for engine oil

And that is the only item you are skeptical about?

What other lubes were changed?

Running Total 5w30 with 8000km change interval. Toyota recommends 5w30,5w40,10w40 depends on your engine health I guess but never go for 20W-50 Never Ever.

yeah i didnt mention but i took that advice and changed the engine oil. other oils were that were changed were transmission oil and diff oil and transmission and diff oil was toyotas. since it time to change oil again that is the reason i asked

Btw choose any API SN 5w30 for your engiine.

Just try to drive it carefully, and have good tyres installed. What I have hear is; some models of Mark X are difficult to control at high speeds, due to some design issues.

Which model year is it? Is the odometer reading correct?

Which engine oil had previously been in use? What's the condition and health of engine?

I would instead suggest to go for Caltex / Havoline, Shell, Total, etc.

Even ZIC and Kixx are good, provided bought 100% authentic.

The reason I do not recommend Liqui Moly, or other imported, expensive oils; they seem not value to money to me.

Then he seems not an expert with Mark X, and may be avoided from next time.

20W-50

May be sincerely avoided. IMO, 10w-30 by Caltex / Havoline, or 10w-40, fully synthetic by ZIC would suit your car, provided engine health is Great.

Any of DOT 3, DOT 4, or even DOT 5.1 (and not DOT 5, do not even think of pouring DOT 5; ever!) would suffice (as major difference is between their boiling points).

Just ensure that oil is authentic and from some reputed brand.

I recently used Caltex DOT 4 in my brakes system, and fully satisfied with its performance.

Thank you brother and ameen. yes i drive it loads of love and i dont know but mine feels solid and in control at even 140+ speeds(i mean its even better then my families vezel),
It 05 model and yes odometer reading is correct it is currently at 121k, idk what oil previous owner used but i changed the oil only once( which my mechanic recommened which was 20W-50) and about the engine it is very healthy alhumduillah feels very powerful and gives very good average of 9-10km/L within city with normal driving habits( which includes powersliding at very U-turn without any traffic). Plus i got it checked from four different mechanics. so I'll say its pretty healthy and I'll give you the proper hp results after i get it dyno tuned.

sewing machine oil also known as gun lubricant is mixture of liquid paraffin & turpentine oil 20 ML paraffin is mixed to 200 ml lab grade turpentine oil. The thinest of lube oil. I know this because the combination trick was demonstrated by a CATERPILLAR engineer visiting a remote site
