i opted for marble for lounge, kitchen and few beds rooms. rest is solid wood flooring and drawing is wooden tile Cerdomus
So mashwray loog both deta hai which we followed as well but what i have experienced is Tiles are the way to go.
When marble got polished it showed a lot of imprefections due to which we had to remove it and replace and redo the process.. there are few places we had to place 5x5 slabs to keep it neat and minimum cutting.. i dont exactly remember the costs involved but i do remember that total calculation revealed if we would have opted for tiles it would have cost as a bit less. Italian tiles are almost same as good expensive marble.100k-300k per room etc
People vote for marble because it can be polished several times but problem is if one is living in the house its not easy to get polished again so the marble pro is not much of a pro.
Most expensive thing is granite which is used for stairs entry lobby.. to keep work clean custom order is places as per requirement and only one piece is used which sometimes cost 100-300k per piece. I remember getting quote for once piece for entry lobby it was 10 lacs if we wanted to use 1 piece for all the area(obviously we did not)
Solid wood floor is a pain again.
Tiles are the best dont go for non branded cheap tiles which cost 100-200 per sw feet use good brand tiles and that will be best.
I dont know where you want to use it but you cannot go wrong with tiles.
