When you say new car I am assuming you are talking about a 0 meter car from a showroom. Your cheapest options would be a Suzuki swift top variant or an Alsvin top variant. They're priced very close so depending on if your preference is a hatchback or Sedan you could look into either

I haven't used either, but both have simple cruise control. It is a really basic feature, I do not think there is a need to compare that

Btw, I have Alto 660 VXR (the manual version). Do you think it’s possible to install cruise control on it, even something basic? I’ve seen some affordable plug-and-play universal cruise control devices on Amazon etc. Is it worth the effort to try integrating one of those into the Alto for a basic cruise control feature?

Would love to hear if anyone has any first-hand experience with these kinds of devices. Appreciate the help.

Even the Top of the line Alto RS Turbo and Works edition don't have cruise control. They have multimedia controls which you can use.

So usually the logic is that if a higher spec car already has cruise control it is very simple for people to just add the controls for cruise control and it works (in most cases). If however there is no support from other models it is not recommended. It certainly is possible, but often the alterations and scope of work is not worth it.

Im hoping others chime in for advise, I'm not too well versed in it and was looking into adding cruise control in my Altis 1.6 until I've seen that they could not even do it in the special edition with the auto gearbox and was only added in the CVT one (if I remember correctly).

For a basic cruise control that just keeps the speed steady without needing to press the accelerator, I don’t think gear shifting is involved. Like, if I’m going at 40 km/h and turn on the cruise, I’d already be in the right gear, so the cruise control wouldn’t need to mess with gear shifting to work properly. Something like this might be doable in Alto 660 since it already has an ECU and a Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) for electronic throttle control. We’d just need a way to turn off the cruise control whenever the accelerator or brake pedal is pressed.

It does not have anything to do with shifting that is correct. The basic requirements are certainly there, however when there isn't a program for cruise control by the manufacturer many people give up because it often is not worth the hassle (I'm assuming)
