LED lights: legal or not?

I tried finding this topic on the forum but couldn't find any answer.

I noticed that the new Honda Civic has LED lights installed.

Would it be legal and also possible to add LED lights to my Civic 9th generation? (Rebirth, as its often called)

Just need to know whether LEDs are legal, unlike HIDs.

And if I can install those in my existing lights.

Not all LED lights are illeagal. I believe there's a certain kind of LED lights that's illegal.

Companies like Honda are big and repuenough to not do something illegal in their OEM specs. They have legal departments within their global corporate structure and all measures are taken on to make sure the ISO standards.

It's simple:

Whatever came from manufacturer's as OEM specs, that is legal.

Only if I could find what lights the the facelift Civic X uses then. And whether or not it's okay to use the same kind of LEDs in Civic 9th gen projector lights

you will need to refit the complete projector.

by design all projectors are different, halogen, hid and led all have different design according to the light source.

mixing and matching wont give you the same result.

Adding to what @ahmedstudio said, the LEDs just like the HIDs are not legal in an ordinary reflective beam (although we have no legislation here in Pak) due to abnormal glare they produce. It is highly unmoral to blind others. Yes the Projection lense of 9th & 10th Gen has a Halogen type cut off so one can use LED in ' Projection Only'. There are a lot of LEDs in the market which rather than enhancing the lux lumens decrease them and create an out of focus beam pattern.

You will find it here on diff threads that you can opt for low beam projector H11 (Photum or CREE XPH50). I have installed one and they are remarkably brighter without hindrance to others with proper halogen beam cut off pattern..

you can get phillips ultinon led bulbs to replace your standard halogen bulb.

but be prepared to spend some $$$$$$$$$$$$$

Well,Not all LED Lights are illegal,a few kinds of LED lights thats illegal. it would be good to explain more your question about LED use. For Road side uses of LED it would be good to read content as its help me and clear my idea.While Bought from this site
