Well the estimate is for the whole engine swap work, not just the engine. The price of engine ofcourse varies depending on which engine you choose. Small engines like 1.3L - 1.6L are with high prices as they are in high demand for normal swaps. Big engines are not that easy to sell and you can bargain on them. Gone are the days when you could get an awesome engine 1.6L - 1.8L for 30k.
Also when you do an engine swap your expected to swap in new drive train parts like axles, clutch plates/ pressure plates, wheel bearings etc. My estimate includes all of those. Also the labour of your mechanic ofcourse. One of the engine foundations may need to be changed according to the new engine mounting. So my esimate includes the total cost you may incur.

You can give him my reference, tell him Amar who owns the white 4g63t 92 model galant gave u this number. Call him and ask about the options you have and how much it will cost. You can give your car to his mechanic and he can get the engine swapped for you, this way you wont need to go to shershah and will tackle the small swapping problems of replacing and finding the right parts himself.
If you decide to get the work done by him, make sure you decide on the total price of the swap very very clearly before you proceed.
