Hello PW'ers

Recently about a month ago I got a chance to go to Lahore out of my busy university life for some wedding functions. I had kept one day free and had planned to see 'purana sheher' and 'lahori darwazay'. Since I had a day only to spare I only managed to visit the following locations and took some pictures.

Badshadhi Mosque
Delhi Darwaza
Shahi Hamam
Wazir Khan Mosque
Lahore Fort
Gurudwara
Baara Darri
Allama Iqbal's tomb
Roshnai Darwaza

Since I follow photography professionally too, I had decided to convert this into a project and make outsiders as well as locals understand the rich heritage that Lahore has. Unfortunately I finalized the pictures but again was unable to do something substantial to turn it into a 'project'.

So the thread will contain my collection of pictures that I took on this mini trip of mine. Feel free to contribute in terms of constructive criticism. Also you can post the pictures you have depicting Lahore and its history.

the wires ruined the picture, otherwise it looks amazing. I loved the clouds that day. Gave the places good lighting as well as nice highlights. The sky looked amazing itself

Im lahori but went only once to badshahi masjid and never to wazir khan masjid...

This structure had a history of its own. Legend says that this was a piece of structure that was removed from another Mughal structure and placed here by one of the Mughal Emperors for the love of some woman. (crazy Mughals :P)

This is what Wikipedia suggests:
''Baradari also Bara Dari is a building or pavilion with 12 doors designed to allow free flow of air.The structure has three doorways on every side of the square shaped structure. The building for their outstanding acoustic feature was used for the performances by Tawaifs, the noble courtesans and other artistes. They were also used for their fresh air during hot summers. Bara in Urdu/Hindi means Twelve and Dar is door.''

Its 'Baara Dari' because of the 12 gates that it has that leads to its inside chambers.
