Aoa Guys I need to travel from pindi to kohat
kindly advise me which route is better

Pindi- fatehjang-kohat .... N80
Pindi- peshawar-kohat....M1-N55

Use N-80.Pindi-Fateh Jang-Kohat.Road is two way.From Pindi to Fateh jang and about a 30Km beyond Fateh Jang towards Jand, the road is in very good condition.From there onwards its metalled but not smooth.Once you cross the bridge(British era bridge of 1905) over Indus River into NWFP, its metalled too but not so smooth until you reach a town named Gumbat from where metalled and smooth surfaced road start until Kohat.So use this N-80 and dont come through Peshawar...It will take more time due to huge traffic while crossing Peshawar to get to N-55 towards Kohat and then check points in Darra(FATA area) at the entrance and then before Kohat tunnel will waste your time.So the best option is N-80 PINDI-FATEH JANG-JAND-KHUSHALGARH-KOHAT and then BACK on the same road.It will take about 3 hours for one side journey.Hope it helps...

It is bit congested upto Fateh Jang but after that it is almost clear

Had my journey couple of days ago... from pindi till fateh jang the road is in very good condition because of the farm houses of crocodiles,they use to visit thats why road is in good condition,after that the road is full of takieya ,its bumpy but the plus point is you won't see any traffic on it except big trucks.The Peshawar road no doubt is very good... if you will take my opinion then I'll advice you to go via pindi fateh jang road.Avoid Peshawar road because its dangerous , the army and FC make you stop for nothing.

Start your journey early in the morning , you will find below to normal trafic from peshawer road to fatajang while on the day time will find huge trafic in this patch.

Rightly said its congested from Pindi to Fateh Jang where the Karachi bound heavy traffic turns left and then there is not much traffic.But be very careful of creatures suddenly jumping towards the road like it happens everywhere in Pakistan or the local wagons stopping in the middle of the road to pick or drop passengers without any tail lights and brake lights.And also be very careful about the tractors and tractor trolleys especially in the dark.Most of them are not visible from far as they dont have tail lights so you should be vigilant.And dont over speed.There are bends on this road.Frequent travellers know the locations but first time traveller while driving anywhere for first time should I think be little more cautious.And hope you will enjoy the journey and the 1905 bridge as well on river Indus at Khushalgarh.Have a good and safe journey and share your experience.

Yesbut another reason is constituency of former prime minster Shaukat Azizthe road is carpeted upto Jaffar, the exact location of constituency after that it is bumpy and rough but good for travelling
