Do you have any clue how much it takes to maintain a Cl9? I have done a thorough research of two months before jumping to Mark 2.
The following are the main problems related to Honda Accord Cl9 according to my research:
1) Engine Mounts: Price 25-30k Engine Mounts tend to crack or break easily after 20,000km if kicking the high RPM often.
2) Transmission: It depends on the owner who has kept his car and changed the fluids periodically, Cl9's transmission isn't as solid as Toyotas sadly.
3) Suspensions: They are the easiest parts to be replaced and purchased but they are literally hard for Karachi roads. It is not a problem but it takes a lot of effort to keep them okayish.
4) Engine Oil: A lot of people don't know that if you keep hitting high RPMs, engine oil tends to decrease by mm to eventually half a liter. I have asked 3 of my friends about it who owns CL9's.
No hard feelings but I love Cl9 too much. It's a childhood dream car. Sports look, smooth drive, Excellent road grip as people say Reborn ki 100km/h ki Grip or Accord Cl9 ki 200 ki Grip barabar hai. The availability of parts is surprisingly easy but Mark 2's parts not that hard to find either. I do admit Mark 2 also has a decent amount of problems too but it is really cheap to maintain compared to Cl9 apart from being underpowered it is more comfortable.
The gap between an Excellent Mark 2 and a Great Mark x is around 10 lacs.
Mark 2 1.5 Million
Mark X 2.5 Million
This isn't that easy to increase a Million in the budget or else add 500k more and Prado 1999 is available for 3 Million.
