Hello dear respected pakwheelers,
Before Eid, I got my Honda city 2006 (genuine engine 190k mileage) serviced and I parked my car for the night and before the service, the car was running fine and everything seemed okay. The reason of service was that on first day of eid, I had to go to karachi to visit family, (hyd to khi) and everything was fine while driving but on the haflway from motorway, the EPS light blinked, my speed was around 100kmph, the AC was on and it was around 1pm, I was at first a bit nervous and it went off after few hundred meters and then it was fine and the light came back on and steering felt hard, I reduced my speed to 60kmph for safety and looked for nearest petrok station and hence parked my car there and yes I was on CNG the whole time and after this eps, I ran the car on petrol, the guys on station didn't knew about anything so it was pointless to ask from them, it was first day of eid so my mechanic was also not available, as I tried to drive my car again, the EPS didn't blink, it went off, I was a but relieved but then suddenly over heat light started to blink and that made me mad, I stopped the car on the side and checked under the hood if anything felt wierd, it was around 2pm and very hot so couldn't stand in the heat and took the risk and drove the car to the second nearest petrol station and parked my car under the shade there and inspected it, called my mech, although he was busy but told me to check radiator reservoir, and a pipe passing from engine (sorry I dont have high end car knowledge) and he asked me to check that if that pipe is hard or soft, it was bit soft and not hot to burn my hand. Everything seemed fine, no any leaks or anything. So I had to eventually reach at my destination so took the risk, drove the car at around 80kmph for almost 70 80km with the overheat light blinking and stopping all the time, when I reached my destination, I parked there and left it for around 5 to 6 hours and then had to leave for HYD on the same day, it was very risky but had to take the risk, I drove my car from khi to hyd with that blinking overheat light and funny thing, the EPS is now showing no problem at all. The car was fine all the way from khi to hyd, the AC fuse was damaged I dont know how so came back without AC, it wasnt running, only the over heat light was blinking and I reached my home in HYD and left it parked for the night. Next morning, checked the resorvoir, it was half empty, the oil level was a bit low as I think it should be after 300km journey. I filled the tank, and put some oil in it and started the car, it showed a cool green temp light but it went off after 5 sec (which shouldn't be, it should have stayed on for like 3-4 minutes) and then it was off, the check engine light was on since yesterday and then in the morning, when I drove the car barely half a kilometer, the over heat light started blinking again and again and I came back home and parked the car. Its the third day of eid today, I will get my car checked tomorrow. Just wanted professional advice from you people that what should I hope and look for in the checkup and should I be worried and be prepared for a big bill or is it okay? I know the engine is old and has ran too much through its life and my mech suggested me if I wanted to run the car for next 5 years, I had to replace the engine but thats another scenario or maybe it is related. So I explained every detail, I hope you guys understand and sorry for such a long description. Would really appreciate if you guide me honestly. Update: I have attached an image in which according to mechanic is the problem. Please guide me if am being scammed or not. Thanks.
