Is suzuki swift automatic transmission worth buying

I am lookign for swift automatic transmission and i just wanted to know is it worth buying or should i go with manual one and i saw an ad of swift 2008 japnese import should i go with an older version as i am tight on budget and pakistani assembled automatic are way expensive

The model advertised is too old and is an import. It might need frequent visits to a mechanic. The automatic Swift is also very heavy on petrol. You might consider a previous shape Cultus. Manual transmission but easy to maintain with good fuel economy.

I bought a new manual dlx swift in 2013.
Then a new auto swift in october 2019.
I own both of these even right now.
I have kept the auto myself and given the manual to my wife as her daily commute is about 7 km only whereas I have to travel 48km in total on a daily basis.
I am not at all concerned about the mileage as I drive the auto with a light foot and it upshifts nicely and has enough torque to happily carry you at a speed of 70km apprpx with rpm at or below 2k revs.
Yes I know it because I daily it.
The fuel consumption is more or less similar to of not better than manual variant maybe because I pulled manual happily through its gears from 2013 till 2019..till I got tired of getting stuck in traffic for extended periods..
I keep a 35-65 ratio of high octane to ordinary pump gas from PSO and I am happy with the consumption.
I hyper miled on my manual back in the day and in winters used to sitch off manual car on traffic lights.
I didnt calculate mileage on auto though but I fuel refilling frequency seems lesser owing to less congestion on roads during lockdown and me outgrowing the phase of pulling car in its gears.
On a straight rpad dropping auto swift into D3 from D with just a flick of the gear lever is great fun and I toy around with 1.3 corollas..lols
And I have my previous swift spund deadned with stinger expert series and this one too but with a chinese deadning and this auto one now carries 4 speakers on parcel shelf, 1 pair of components in front doors 1 pair coaxials in rear doors, 3 jbl subs, one capacitor, zero gauge big 3 and power wire and one 4 channel amp ( on 2 ohms for the keen readers) and one old school rack mount type audiobahn mono...propped in foot well of rear left seat..all in all the car even with extra weight is a breeze to drive within city with adequate supply of horses amd good air conditioning and I dont need to worry about not being able to find spare parts...just re did the front suspension on my old 2013 dlx with o.e.m parts mostly..
So yeah...I would recommend an auto swift
I hav previously owned a 660cc turbo honda diva and a cuore..
Got to drive auto and manual(prosmatec) 1.3 city, wagon R, santro(other immediate family members own them) and own a civic X for motorway drives...so yeah a fair bit of vehicles..buy a swoft even today with its lack of airbags and dated design etc..cause the newer one would surely be expensive in all aspects..the m13a is not fuel efficient but its great fun to drive.

Swift looks like a great car when you read about the things it offers. But when you actually own it you realise what you got urself into.

1. The fuel average is really bad for a automatic hatch back.
2. The resale will give you a headache.

I have previously owned both sold off a manual to buy an auto bet regretted then sold it off too . Still remember the manual as a great experience

you did not mention your budget.
auto is easier to drive, but consumes more fuel. If you are okay with lesser fuel average go for auto.
if you do consider fuel average important, then go for manual.
i would suggest don't go for a 2008 Japanese swift as i think it has some mechanical changes too so sourcing parts could be a hassle later on. Local swift has each and everything available in market.

the biggest mistake people do is that they buy this car considering its size (chhoti gari hai) , but what they don't realize is that it is a full 1300cc engine car (andar se bari gari hai) and hence they think it will give fuel average of a cultus or other hatchbacks, but the engine is bigger and performs way way better than small cars... so it gives fuel average of also like other 1300cc cars ...wohi 11-12 in city, and then people get disappointed "chhoti gari hai par petrol bohat khati hai" but they dont realize they are driving a 1328 cc car , not a whinny 1000cc engine!
