Is it worth to get windshield polished?

I have minor scratches on screen due to bird poop and car standing outside the house, should I get the windshield buffed/polished for clear vision?

Also, has anyone tried services of these online guys, GlassFix_pk in karachi or lahore? they're charging 2000 for my 660cc car.

Hi, so I have done this on multiple cars, Viper marks are visible if the rubbers are not changed regularly. I have seen great results. Recently got My father's 2010 Altis front screen buffed and now he can clearly see at night. got it done
In lahore near Mazang Chungi. The guys name is Qasim. Just ask around everyone knows him as he is doing it since long. My cars have never been harmed. Done it on Suzuki Khyber, Toyota Altis and Revo. You can negotiate with him on spot and i think it should be around 1000 for Alto front screen.

Correct me if I am wrong, there is a hard clear UV coating over the glass which reduces the UV rays entering the care and being harder than the glass, it stops the glass from getting scratched. Buffing will remove this layer, so you might have a clear glass for few days but it will be more prone to scratches. I had my head lights buffed once. They became v hazy with scratches within few months. Next time I got it buffed, I sprayed it with a clear coat usable for plastic and surfaces (bought it from daraz) as shown in a tutorial of Youtube.

Nope actually unlike paint glass has a uv rejection layer packed between the 2 layers of glass in between. The top is just bare glass which can be polished heavily without any fear except cracking windshield. Glass itself is 10x strong than clear coat on body paint. The case with headlight is totally else. Headlights contain a coating above it to save your headlight from environmental damage typically getting it plaed. However you cam buy an headlight coating and apply on headlight after its correction

Yes an additional layer of protection e.g. glass coat or ceramic coat is preferred for hydrophobic, gliding wiper effect but not necessary. When I buy a car from showroom my cars windshield never gets damaged as i buy fresh rubber every other season for replacement and i cover my car with top cover when parked. As Saad mentioned that its bare glass that a car comes with and the car screen can be buffed a few times before its starts to show signs of irregularity that can distort the view due to uneven buffing. Once or twice is no problem. A good buffer never buff the glass sealant adjacent or closeby areas as the sealant can lose its properties with the heat generated during this process. The sealant is mostly present on the edges of glass or where the rear view mirror is glued to the windscreen in some cars.

Actually there's no pre installed coating above the glass. Providing it continous heat of 150°F will damage the plastic layer between both glases as it will start to loose it properties.

I agree, I am talking about the sealant used to fix the glass to the body.
