iPod screen broken - need help

My son's ipod screen has been broken as shown in pic. Please advise is it replaceable? Or it has been bricked? Anyone got replaced his phone's touchscreen? How does it work after replacement?
Any idea about cost?

Take it to a mechanic, get it's screen replacement. It'll cost between 2500-4000.

and btw, there's no need to give these type of gadgets to those who can't care for it.

Thanks mate. Actually he fell from bed while holding this. This gadget was given to him so he stays aways from my iPhone.

I have been give ultimatum that i cannot enter home tomorrow without getting it repaired or buying a new one.

If the top glass os broken its easy replacement. Only $35 here. I hope the LCD below the glass is ok?

Yes, lcd seems okay. As touch screen is working perfectly fine, even with the broken glass.

I am sure that on i-dingies if the glass is broken, the touch still works, just be careful that no one gets cut by using it.

And when replacing it, stay with the device, these mechanics steal alot of good parts and replace with old parts

ok here is from my past experience

ur ipods touch is broken not the screen it is easily replaceable but DONT get it replaced use it as it is,after u get it replaced the touch will never be like the one u have even with the broken screen ,

easily replaceable from hafeezcentre lahore @ 1200 for genuine replacement glass...chinese as low as as 600

i guess its called digitizer

works like original...no problems watsoever

open market was quoting in thousands
he ordered from ebay for few dollars.and installed himself

Buy the screen and show your Son the video posted by @fazalwahab11375. Tell him to fix it himself. It would be a great and encouraging activity for him. I would do this, if I were in your place

I cannot let my son to use as it is, he is around 5 years old, he may get his fingers / hands cut.

Quoted Rs.2000 for glass, as screen is perfectly fine (confirmed by techie guy).
