Importing Vintage Cars

Asalam u alaikum!
I wanted to know how can i Import a car in Pakistam from UK or Middle East. The type of car i want to import is a vintage model i have several cars in mind but some of them which i have my eye on are 1969 Mustang Boss 429, 1969 Dodge Charger, or 1969 Toyota 2000GT. I have been through some old blogs in which it was stated that, Vintage cars have some relief from import duties/taxes.
I want to know the proper legal process of importing such car.
This is my sort of first question on this forum please guide me if i am wrong soemwhere.

A car manufactured more than 3 years old cannot be imported into Pakistan legally.
So right now you cannot import a car which was manufactured before January 2017.
Regarding that vintage car policy, I don't think even a single car was cleared on that policy, maybe someone like capsat can clarify.

Thank you for your precious time brother... Yes i have read about importing used cars sedans should be 3 years old and SUV’s not more than 5 years old... and i really didn’t knew about if someone actually imported a vintage car and the policy was applied... @capsat Sir please do guide here about this topic

vintage car import SRO was issued and in files. Not activated over FBR/Customs Portal for clearance processing.

this sro for vintage cars is active in Imports section of FBR

In a civilized country, instead of a fixed date, the cutoff would be a rolling date, i.e. 30 (or whatever) years old at time of import. That way the policy would always be effective and up to date.

When all official papers still use the word "Jeep" instead of SUV and write engine displacement in cc where horsepower is mentioned on car registration books, this comes as no surprise.

So in short, $5000 needs to be paid on import of any vehicle pre 1968.
Have I gotten that right?

BTW, any vintage vehicles in Pak in poor shape that can be had for dirt cheap? I'm searching for a piece for a possible project. Ideally one of those "Quaid-e-Azam" type old timers...?

many vintage cars arrived after that announcement, waiting for clearance from customs. All such vintage cars are moved into a high security shed with CCTV cams.

Clearance is not likely to happen soon. The SRO is issued, notified through gazette of Pakistan but not activated at FBR Customs portal for clearance process.

in January 2020 when President was in Karachi for family visit , Imran Ismail Governer Sindh alongwith few Karachi Gymkhana colleagues discussed the issue. Hammad Azhar, Asad Omer & Member Customs at FBR were taken into loop, issue is still in limbo.
