Importing Kawasaki ninja 250r

Aoa fellow pakwheelers. I'm new to bikes and I'm interested in ninja 250r 2008 model.
The problem is i've have no idea where to import it from(to get the least expense in shipment).
If anyone has info, or has imported a bike before...kindly let me know about the procedure/shipment-cargo charges. And also the custom duty for 250cc bikes.

I'm hoping the budget doesnt exceed 350k-500k. Lastly I'm only interested in a 250cc sports bike, and kawasaki is the only design that appeals to me.

It's too late to import a 2008, now you'll have to go for a 2009. A 2009 is going for $3800 on ebay.

250cc x $5.25 = $1312.5 custom duty.

Shipping will be around $1500-2000 depending on which port you send it from.

So total breakup = $3800 + $1312 + $2000 = $7112

Which more or less comes out to around Rs. 618'000/-

There will be additional charges as well including sales tax, income tax & F.E.D.

Hence buying a relatively used bike in Pakistan would be a much much feasible option. You should be able to score a mint 2005+ 250cc within 3.5 to 4lacs if you search hard enough. Good luck.

Spending this much of amount on 250cc.. its better to find a 600cc category bike here instead of importing new machine. Its hard to find 250cc new bike in Pakistan you can only get 1996 - 2000 ZXR250 nor a 2009 Ninja 250R.

Agreed, you can probably get a 2000-2003 ZX6r in your budget. Besides you will quickly outgrow a 250cc bike.

I wanted a 250cc because i'll use the bike on a daily basis..(70km to my uni and back)
For that reason, my biggest concern is the fuel consumption. Anything giving me between 18-20km per liter is acceptable. I doubt a zx6r would give me anything even closer to that.

But i agree. 6 lacs is wayy to much for a 250cc bike.

Any new suggestions, anyone?

And if someone could tell me any sports bike dealer in pindi/isb?

Agreed, you can probably get a 2000-2003 ZX6r in your budget. Besides you will quickly outgrow a 250cc bike.

[I]Consupmtion of ZX6R is around 12 - 14kms / Ltr

Best option is 2002 - 2004 Yamaha YZF R6 or Honda CBR 600cc.. Kawasaki will be over on your pocket.. beside all this I will recommend you 2003 - 2004 Yamaha YZF R6 fuel economy is much better then ZX6R and CBR600 can give you 16 - 18kms/ltr, looks are attractive and appealing, R6 is a high performance and ever best bike in 600cc category.[/I]

If anyone knows where pindi/isb dealers for sports bikes are located, that will solve the last puzzle.

I used to own a 05 R6 and it had pretty good fuel economy, in comparison, my 09 R6 is not as fuel efficient. Though i wouldn't really suggest a 600cc super bike if you're going to travel daily in stop & go traffic.

Maybe you'd be better off with a smaller bike considering it'll be your everyday ride.

Your last post kicked some sense into me. R6 is such a beauty that half my mind was set on getting one.
But that'd totally ruin the whole purpose of getting a fuel efficient daily ride. (Currently i've a car thats on petrol only, jub aik sheher se doosrey mein jaata houn roz toh lag pata jata hy :s)

But anyways, r6 is on my list IA when i'll step into professional life.

Then try to find a used 94 - 96 Suzuki Bandit 250 - 400cc that will give you 20 - 24kms/ltr.
