Hyundai Xteer engine oil review

Hi,
My swift was due for a maintenance, (25k) Driven.
I always give the car to suzuki 3s dealership but this time i didnt feel like going there because their prices are increasing a bit too much. So i went to my reliable mechanic. I wanted him to put castrol magnatec, but he said why are you using local engine oil? He showed me various engine oils and finally recommended to use Hyundai Xteer 10w30. He said suzuki SGP oil is Total Quartz, which is just ok. Well i agreed with him and used the Xteer oil. The engine is running smooth as of now.
So my question is how good is Hyundadi Xteer ? Would love to hear reviews from people who have used it. I will provide my review once i’ve ridden it 5k kms.

I believe there is no harm in using local engine oil. This is not an abuse to use local oil. We all must come out of imported, expensive, fancy engine oils mentality.

As long as an oil meets / exceeds specific requirements (like set by API, ILSAC, etc.), they have certifications, and seals / service donuts on them, etc., then even if its a local company, or a foreign company, having blending facilities here in our country; Pakistan, there is no harm in using such oils.

I strongly disagree.

First, I do not think Suzuki SGP is Total Quartz.

Secondly, Total Quartz is not just OK; it is one of the finest fully synthetic engine oils available here locally, and offers much much better value for money.

Engine running smooth, quite, sunn, etc. may not mean engine is running fine or comfortably. It might be struggling to overcome viscosity of thick engine oil, which has just been poured in.

Brother as far as I know, Caltex / Havoline 10w-30 is best for bucks, when it comes to 10w-30 engine oil grade for Gasoline engines.

Your ride is just driven 25-30,000 Kms. From next engine oil change, my recommendations are for Total Quartz 9000 Future Series 5w-30, and change oil + oil filter after every 5,000 Kms.

i think swift requires 5w40 instead if 5w30
in 5w40 only good options are shell helix ultra 5w40 and havoline pro ds 5w40 both are fully synthetic and equally good engine oil

YES. In 5w-40, Caltex / Havoline and Shell are excellent, and value to money!

Other options worth considering are Kixx, ZIC and Mobil1.

Just checked the manual of swift. Here’s what it says.

According to this 5w-30 and 10w30 are fine till 30 degree temperatures. This means 5w-30 would be better. But according to manual 5w-30 is not recommended if temperature is above 30 degrees. I guess karachi is above 30 degrees these days ?

Suzuki 3s has been using 10w30 in my car. They pour in the golden dabba of SGP oil.

Found this piece of info, can someone confirm if this is correct.

Technically according to this the only difference between 5w30 and 10w30 is cold start protection.

These are all myths and do not work on modern Gasoline engines.

You may use any of 5w-30, or 10w-30, with complete peace of mind and confidence.

Brother I do not know about the Golden pack oil by Pak Suzuki, however, just know that 5w-30 and 10w-30 work fine on M13A engine in PKDM Swift.

YES. I also endorse it. But Still, there will be slight differences in the Kinematic Viscosity at 40 and 100 degree Celsius of both the oils, i.e. 5w-30 and 10w-30.
