How practical is Toyota Mark II (JZX90) as a daily driver?

I'm a college student and a car enthusiast. My dad decided to buy me a car within the budget of 10-12 lac. Any type of kei car (660cc) is out of question. So in this budget the options are quite limited. I was thinking about BMW 3 Series E36, Toyota Mark II JZX90, or Honda Civic Reborn but for that we will have to stretch the budget, and I'm not really sure if we can do that. And no I won't go for previous civic/city models or any Corolla model.
So Mark II is the one I like the most since it comes with stock 1jz engine. And I will also be using it for casual spins.
I had few questions in mind, in case i buy it how easy/difficult would it be to resell the BMW/Mark II, since they are not really common cars.
How easy is it to maintain a Mark II/BMW? Spare parts, mechanics?
Can you do a 1UZ swap in E36, and how feasible is it, does it mess up the handling or something?
Can I use these cars to travel to other cities or maybe go to north?
How much will a Mark II cost and how much more would i have to spend on it to get it in shape?

Which one should I really go for overall?

Bmw’s when they get old becomes endless money pits.It’s better to buy used Corolla or Civic comapred to a Bmw as you,ll need fuel economy as well.And if u are buying bmw to become cool and for showoff.Then don’t worry because here in Pakistan cars like Corolla and Civic are considered high end cars.And which model mark 2 are you talking about?

I'm not at all buying the BMW to showoff. I'm more into sleeper/drift cars and performance.
I'm talking about the Mark II 1990s model.

You need automatic or manual

You need a small JDM right now that is easy to maintain, even a Reborn would suffice. A JZX100 or a BMW, any BMW would cost you more than 12 lakhs, would need periodic maintenance that you cannot afford right now. They make more power than a lot of people can handle, and would be hard for an amateur to trouble shoot when a problem surfaces. These is not market cars that you can take to just anybody to fix. You can daily them but it would require you yourself to work on the car if something breaks, or possess enough experience to guide and supervise the mechanic working on it.

JZX90 is even older and would need more maintenance. You cannot find one that came stock here with a 1JZ.

iive used a jzx90 chaser for more than 4 yrs as a daily driven, ii really enjoyed the experience which was as good as having a daily driven merc w124 before that. Considering u r a student and its ur first car, ill recommend against buying the jzx, reasons detailed below

1- its very tail happy and difficult to control when throttled
2- even though, the engine parts are thoroughly available, the body parts and suspension parts are pia to find
3- a little heavy on fuel i.e. 6-7kmpl in city drive but 11-12 on motorways.
4- it will be very difficult to find an non-abused car
5- it has avery long wheel base and gets scratched on the speed breakers and there is no
way u can take it north and any city with broken roads

I actually find it quite amusing that how you "mature" people start fighting and judging other people over nothing. All i did was was lay down my demands and options and asked for a friendly advice. And you guys ignored all my demands and started giving me your own advice on which car to buy and which car's petrol and maintenance my parents couldn't afford.
How my dad would pay for the fuel and maintenance is none of your business all you guys have to do is to provide me with your experience about these cars and not to tell me that whether my parents can afford it or not.
@syed.arslan and @taimoorkhan provided me with plain facts and opinions and I respect that, they did not tell me that if my dad could afford the maintenance or not.
I actually respect @capsat reply also because he used the word WHY NOT and didn't just tell me to buy the alto.
I also see what you emphasized with the word ABUSED.
And yes I would go for an ABUSED Civic 8th gen any day rather than a new 0 meter Alto. As I am currently driving an ABUSED Swift which I like much much more than my 50k km driven pristine condition JDM Wagon R.

To do a uz swap on an e36 you need to stretch the budget to more thqn 2 mil and sell it at a huge loss. If you really want a sleeper get a ke70 and swap it with something decent. Or an old civic and put in a k24. Mark2 and chasers are very looong cars and dont have good handling and are very old now. A manual reborn is ur best option in this scenario. Try to get a clean one.

Pathans love swapped and clean ke70s. Selling it isnt hard. But it will be a loss obvio. Red ke70s with overly large rims, shashkay wali poshish, econo tires and beams engines are pretty common now.

If i'm not wrong ke70 is rwd, right? If yes then it would be a good drift build. And it's parts would be easy to find, right?

Yup its rwd. Parts are not hard to find. If you are interested in drifting get an lsd and better suspension. If you can find an ae86 thats the best car for drifting but its a lil rare and an enthusiasts car.

AE86 would be near to impossible to find, and would be expensive too if I managed to find one.

True. Ke70 is good for drifting, daily driving as well as costs and parts. Fits all the basic requirements. Go for it after discussion with ur father. Get one which hasnt suffered jugaars and such.
