Honda Original Spark Plugs vs NGK

Asalam-o-Alaikum Fellows,

I noticed Honda City Original Spark plugs are basically NGK Brand 6774 IZFR6K-13 series. Now the question is Honda is charging Rs.8,200/- for 4 plugs (with Honda branding), whereas, in open market with NGK branding its cost Rs.5,200/- for set of 4.

Are these both same or does Honda Branded plugs are changed in any way?

They are same but no guarantee that will be original from open market get it from authentic store

Thanks for prompt reply. Yeah store is authentic, I'm just curious to know whether Honda is charging additional Rs.3,000/- only for its branding ?

Honda and Suzuki do that. Most of the Suzuki parts especially oil filters are made by GUARD and they just rebrand the name and sell at higher cost than the market.

And from open market try to make sure they are genuine.

Sir, if you planning to change the genuine plugs then its my advice to change it from honda stealership, so that one can have peace of mind. I'm not sure about that shop which is selling them for 5200rs, if you are confident about the shop & its product then go for it. Btw, what is the current mieage of your car? Thank you.

ngk plugs which are in market is made in indonesia as oem are made in japan. u cannot distinguished between indonesian and japanese plugs individually but can easily know by side by side comparison.

Thanks for reply. Car mileage is around 98,000 kms and still running on original spark plugs. Honda recommends to change at 100,000kms. Shop is authentic, lets see I'm going to change tomorrow.

That makes more sense brother. Made in Japan vs Made in Anywhere Obviously product will be same but made country with quality standards makes difference.

one more thing which i test my self .the insulator resistance between oem plugs of honda is less then that of aftermarket.i checked resistance on multimeter. same as electrode resistance are different. in my opinion this difference effect coil life also
