Honda Civic RS 11 Gen 2023 Model knocking issue

Dear All,

I purchased the new Honda Civic RS 11 Gen after a year wait for it, although excited to have got it before the price increase but after the first maintenance I observed the vehicle making few clicks/knocks when accelerating mildly from 60km to 80km. These clicks/knocks happens only like 5% of the time when accelerating in this speed range. At time it could be observed at 40km and up to accelerating from 80km as well.

I have written to Honda, checked the vehicle at 3 different dealership, and as it happens to most of us the vehicle would not behave in that specific matter infront of the mechanic. These clicks and knocks are not something that happened once, I observe them almost on a daily basis few times and are annoying considering the price we pay for this car.

I use Shell V power and have never used regular fuel. The Honda mechanic has finally said that its Pakistan fuel and nothing wrong with the vehicle. Although I have never used a Turbo charged vehicle before but have not faced this issue with any vehicle. Before the vehicle would knock, it seems like its losing power and is not accelerating smoothly.

Is anyone facing similar issue???

Check spark plug gap

The spark plugs had been checked by Honda, cleaned and reinstalled. the issue still remains

Ensure the gap is between 0.70-0.75mm.
Honda guys tend to widen the gap. Just my personal experience.
Try changing your fuel station. Avoid random stations.

what a waste of money this car .. that explains the zero sales in 3 months if the knocking issue persist better they didn't detune the engines.

Well tbh the zero sales were due to other macro economic factors currently observed in PKDM.
Its not abnormal for turbo engines to knock in pakistan. The right step should be to identify and solve the issue rather than making useless arguments about it.
Same engine is being offered in other countries world wide.

civic x turbo 2016 also had engine knocking issues but the engine put out more power, wasnt detuned and seems like detuning the engine didnt solve the problem this is my point. Less sales can be blamed on macro economic factors but zero sales tell a different story especially when other rival cars are selling although also less in no.

Sir jee people had deposited money for bookings but no cars were being manufactured as the factory was closed due to unavailability & poor management of ckd kits. If you mean by zero there was no demand then that isnt true. There was a demand but there was a huge supply gap for hondas.

Use 50-50 ratio fuel from Total

I will check the spark plus again with Honda or from some expert mechanic, regarding fuel, I use only Shell V Power as mentioned earlier and I would go to either F7, F10 or when in Peshawar to FC Plaza Shell pump. So I am not using random fuel pumps which Honda would go to first putting blame on fuel quality of Pakistan. The issue is, this is not the first turbo charged vehicle in Pakistan and Shell for instance has never been in news or discussions of having bad quality fuel.

As Pakistani, its always easy to blame others rather than fixing your own issues which Honda is doing so. The have responded but seems not to believe the issue is there else they would have tried harder to fix it rather than putting blame on fuel quality

The data reflects that no invoice were generated because no new vehicles were produced

It doesn't mean there weren't new bookings or cars already delivered to investors/ showrooms were not in demand

This clown will keep making new users and he is doing it since last year or so. Knows nothing about anything, 24/7 useless comments and once blocked comes from a new user.

In Pakistan, swift and Stonic knock as well based on bad fuel. So it has nothing to do with Honda issue balh blah. I think values need to be checked since knocking is now rare issue since last 2019. Most of us are running way higher boosts and are not facing any knock. InshaAllah issue will be resolved ....

Are you based in Islamabad? can you suggest any mechanic/electrician that can have a look at my vehicle?
