Honda Civic reborn ground clearance issue

1st of all, i need to know why cars start having ground clearance issues, is it something to do with spring coil or is it with shocks? my reborn shocks seems ok, hardly feel any bump or anything, but ground clearance is getting lower and lower after some years, especially when riding with passengers and luggage, i need to know what is the most optimum way to get back to its original Ground clearance height, i don't want to put spacer, is replacing the spring coil will work or ..... please suggest. i can get all those original parts if required

First of all you dont need to worry about this. There is no need to put on spacers. The best way to do is put corona's rear shocks. Change its rear shocks to a bit harder ones so it wont sit then. If a car is lowered its a good factor but as well know we have terrible speed brakers here and there so we do think abt such pity issues.

Thanks, but having said that. I would be modifying to non original parts if i intend to put corona shocks. By the way, were you referring to toyota corona? I have googled this issue and came to know that ground clearance issue comes when springs get loose hence all the load comes to shocks. Some sites says to change shocks and springs both and some says only springs. Does anyone has an idea about it?

I have done the same to my car. My wife drives it. Its 2011 Reborn civic. If you put spacers your civic's ride will become harsh and the car will look weird. Personally, i like softer shocks. Its not at all a complicated thing. While i buying the shocks i told them the reason so they gave me a bit harder springs. Apart from this my reborn is only 36k driven.

Why put harder springs on an already stiff suspension?

@OP get new OEM spring coils of this model only.

Mostly the shock wears out first. The spring is a very long lasting piece in the suspension. The shock actually looses it's absorbing power over time as I myself driving a civic, changed my shock and got a 'kabli' one hence fixed the problem.

The best thing to do is to get your shocks checked. If they go down very easily by a mechanic pressing down on it by hand then it means it needs to be replaced. Otherwise the springs need to be checked for their loss of elasticity
