you never said in your introductory post that you had a "cranking fail" or "lazy crank" issue. Certainly this changes the whole argument from fuel to electrical.
The Fuel filter is a 40,000km service item. It is to be replaced every 40,000 km. If you have been going the dealer every 5000km then it would have been replaced. If not, it should be done along with the other usual service. Your call.
Ok so now we ask a few questions. When you turn the key what happens? Do you hear a clicking? or the starter turns but, very slowly? or nothing happens? your answers will take us to the next step. By the way, it is my feeling that you may have is a heat related problem. In other word, when the car is hot, it behaves fine but the problem manifests itself when the car is cold. If your problem was that the starter cranked fine when cold but sluggish when hot, I'd say that most likely the starter motor was on its way out. But your case is the opposite. So you could have a lose/dirty/starter connection. Have a look at the big cable connected to the starter. Does it have a white or green powder on the bolt?
Anyhow please do reply the questions I have asked. Thanks
