if any one else own's a hybrid civic, please share the fuel consumption in city.

I own a Honda Civic Hybrid and it gives 14km/l city and on long route it gives 20+kmp/l with AC and idling the car for long periods of time.

That is the routine daily running average not when you're trying to check fuel average, in Karachi one constantly gets stuck in traffic where the engine is running with ac on, car drives on low rpms etc. the average that comes with regular usage is between 12-13, also there are times when you are waiting for someone in car with ac on.

As per this seller (local average per 1 litre @ 20 to 22 km.)
Is this correct or not?
I really need Good one this time bcz in last 2 months i paid 147,000 PKR for fuel. this is so expensive so i need good hybrid car with good average .
Thanks

A civic hybrid averages like a manual civic reborn. Not more than that.
I have even driven one where the car gave 8km/l within city because the foot was a bit hard on the accelerator.

If you want real good average, prius is the only option

The Civic Hybrid needs to be driven with special techniques to achieve good mileage. If you drive it like any normal car, you will get the averages mentioned above. If you are aware about SoC (state of charge) assist and regen, and coasting, you will easily be able to average 20 kml+. If you somehow get a scangauge/ ultragauge (very difficult to import), and use the SAH mode, you can get 29 kml to 38 kml on highway journeys; speeds between 80 and 105 and no A/C.

Boss I doubt this car will give that kinda mileage but what I'm talking is with personal experience, if the guy claims make him a deal, go for a test drive, top up the fuel tank & drive the car for half hour under normal driving conditions and then go fill the tank again and only then calculate the mileage, tell the seller if the car gets the average he quoted then you will buy it & pay for the petrol as well otherwise its a no deal as well as fuel cost on him. Even the company says 20.8 (2006-2008) and 16.9 (recalculated in 2008 and above for same model) which is in ideal situation so I doubt it can give bw 20-22 in normal city driving.

16km/l normal city driving!
20+ at highway

@zainshah1987,

As @omararshad has stated, The bookish information(mpg) is irrelevant in Pakistan, we have crowded streets with signals everywhere.
Due to this most of the time car spend idling, crawling how can you achieve better mileage.

Don't sweat........with your running Prius should be a good option even if it gives 15km/l.
