Honda Civic Hybrid, a Good decision to buy?

hello lovely people,

i am looking to buy honda civic HYBRID 2009 model, it has cruise control and all the bits and bobs one ask in a car, that car will be in use of my parents, it is a good decision to buy hybrid civic in islamabad?

plus any suggestion what things i look into before buying a hybrid car!!!

please let me know how is your experience using hybrid car in pakistan, does hybrid civic have parts issues?

im looking to buy UK improt civic which is exact the same as pakistani civic, and i am sure i can buy all the hardware related parts from here but what about engines mechanics, do we have lack of professionals when it comes to hybrid cars?

your suggestion will be much appreciated.

Good point:

The shape is exactly the same as PKDM civic so most part will be inter-changeable

Negatives:

Unless you import it yourself, you cant be sure of the milage
The engine/battery mechanics are sure to be an issue for our local mechanics
No support from Honda Pakistan
Pruis is more popular as compared to Hybrid civic

Prius is more popular no doubt but I see a large number of people around getting attracted towards the civic hybrid with every passing day.

Numbers wise it's a bigger success in Islamabad compared to any other city in the country

Downside of civic is ac is not so powerful due to UK spec and the radiator grill is also small.

The reigning champion of the world when it comes to hybrid cars is the Toyota Prius. People don't like its shape but the 2010 model has good looks. The shape of the Civic is better but as a car no one can beat a Toyota Prius.

When I used the word 'car' in my post I meant 'hybrid car.' A hybrid is made for a different purpose, to save fuel and it does do it marvelously. A hybrid is a very new technology and Toyota is the leader in it. When we compare it with a Honda Civic, the Prius wins hands down. Check out some reviews on youtube. please could you tellme how has the experience been? performance? and is it one reliable car, i am looking to buy JAPANESE import :))

saw one today he is demanding 16.50 for it.... 59k km on the meter. and please could you tellme in the dashboard why does it not show full batt charge? or does it charge its battery as you drive? what are the ways i cam check CIVIC HYBRID IMA batteries capacity and engine wise, how should i analyse it if its healthy or not?

salam, what about japanese hybrid civic. 2008 model? i heard uk hybrid has issues when it comes to pakistan temprature.

i totally agree with you, the time i have spent in the uk and america prius is leading when it comes to hybrid cards, but at the moment there is a new contender which is nissan leaf. coming back to the topic. because of the civic shape and its body parts i am more interested in civic hybrid. parts are exactly the same. its for my parents use within islamabad only. going for hybrid civic 2008 model japanese. is that a wise decision?

how should i analyse health of the battery of the car aswell as hybrid engine?

Yeah Japanese import is better than UK. Though you will find more bells on UK version. Don't know how to check the battery but a good car will give you plus minus 15 16 in local 18 on highway

Civic hybrid is not a good decision because of its shape it does just 15 km/h plus poor resale value dont think that it will sell easily because of same shape as reborn and prius is a better option and then a honda insight .
You can get a good insight with 35-40 k milage of 4.5 grade for 16 75 something.
