Civic VTi 2005 is not 1.8, it’s 1.6
EXi and VTi matter because EXi of 2005 doesn’t have Sunroof, it’s 1.5 but still 1.6 VTi has a better fuel consumption average, I’ve got 6years experience with each.
A/c defect could be anything from a faulty compressor to a condenser or gas or a faulty switch. A technician will tell you better, get it checked because it could be costly. 150k kms isn’t too much for these vehicles, provided the vehicle is driven carefully AND maintained periodically.

Due dilligence is YOUR responsibility, take the car to some reliable mechanic to check the body, engine, and suspension. If the seller’s a friend, he will let you, otherwise take the mechanic to the car, without getting crossed with your friend. Check if the:
1. original file is available such as the original invoice of Honda Atlas Motors, original registration book, all previous registration book(s), token tax is paid or not
2. Original number plates are there
3. if the vehicle was financed, check if the bank’s NOC is available.
4. CPLC clearance is there. There’s no hassle in Karachi, you can check on excise website or through an sms or phone call.
