Honda civic 2000 ecu problem

Salam all.
Dear brothers i have bought civic 2000 vti oriel automatic pakistani.i have a check engine light and my car starts knocking when i give accelerate no matter i am driving or parked.my mechanic told me that yiur car has simple ecu and you need to install other computer which supports vetc also.kindly guide me which computer model should i install and from where i can have it.

First be sure your car is not swapped.
P2M ecu came in Vti. You can buy it from the scrap market in your city.

Is the engine swapped? What code is it showing?

Get it scanned to see what is the error code most since your ECU is not for vtec it should not give you check light on that there is some other code it must be generating probably fault in wiring or sensor for diagnostics get it scanned via OBD
