Hi

I have Honda Civic 1.6 VTI Prosmetic oriel 2005 model, a few days back I got to know that my car's front shocks got leaked but I didn't find any noise in it, Honda's original shocks are too much expensive near to 50k or more with labor charges
I don't want to install Kabli shocks can anyone guide me which shocks I install? I also got to know about the KYB shocks (Japanese) hows its reviews?
Please refer me any good mechanic who is specialized in honda suspension and recommend good shocks

Which city are you located in? If in Karachi, I'll DM you a place. I got my rear bushing, rear shockers replaced from them. I got them for a total of 19,500, and the cost of pressing the bushings was around 2000-2500.
Before this, whenever I hit a bumb or a khadda, i could feel the shocks in the cabin and my body. Now Alhamdulilah Alhamdulilah the rear is very good.

And also, never ever go for kabli shocks, since you wont have any idea how much they've been abused. Never EVER compromise on vital parts for a daily driven car.

Buy KYB shocks Made In Japan. Im using them in my Civic since 2 years. Excellent performance.
Price for front shocks is 28000 rupees these days.

Never go for kabuli shocks as they are repaired locally and sold. Also do not go for refurbished ones in brown packing. They wil fail too.

Spend once and spend wisely.

Yes these are locally rebuilt shocks. Stay away.

How much did you get them for?
These generally go for 9000-9500 rupees
Total waste of money. I have used them
Dont last more than 6 months

There is no authorized dealer that I know of.
However you can get them from Shakeel Autos Township. Hes my trusted parts dealer.

Will tell you honestly about whatever hes selling to you.
If its China hell say its China. Will not label it as Taiwan etc.

Oh. Lets see how these shockers perform. Well, i guess its just my bad luck. Need to get my tires changed too

If youve bought them and dont want to install you can always return them.

Didnt the shopkeeper tell you these are refurbished shocks? Also they come with a 6 months shop warranty

Sadly, they were installed on Friday. And as for the warranty, I cant say, because I went to a garage of my friends, they mainly carry out work for rally cars for jhal magsi and all. But if any damage occurs, I'll talk to him. As of now, the rear suspension performance has improved very significantly. Now you've really really scared me. I just hope these shockers weren't repaired.

How do you tell the difference between a brand new shocker and a repaired shocker?

Brand new one are very expensive.
As I said KYB front shocks are for 28000 rupees. The rear shocks KYB cost 11500 rupees.

Dont worry if youve installed them keep using them.

Also I have used front one. Havnt used repaired shocks on rear. Rear shocks also last longer maybe theyll perform good.

Oh. But again, these are the rear shockers. Abhi i need to save up cash for an ac compressor,front bushings and front shockers

Why ac compressor?
Front bushings will cost 8-9 thousand for all including ball joint and rack ends. Change all to new Japanese. Install RBI bushes.
Never install kabuli no matter what the mechanic says.

If youve replaced shocks and bushes on the rear dont forget to get the rear wheels aligned and camber adjusted.

It makes a noise when i turn the AC on. The electrician was working on my cars wiring yesterday and i told him ke yeh masla araha hai. He said ke AC compressor hai. But i dont believe it. Because prior to me having the seals,oils,and rear suspension work being carried out (and axel boots), it made no noise at all. It's as if the engine was supposed to take the load of the AC, but the compressor is taking the load of the AC.

And yes, RBI bushing. I talked to Auto World (saw their ad on PakWheels) and the ad said 3,800. I'll need to change the tierods and rack ends as well. Me personally, I've only gotten one thing as a kabli part, that being an O2 sensor for my previous 2010 Altis. It worked for 6 months, and shortly after we had to sell our Corolla. Damn i still miss that rolla​
