Honda City Vario 2007 ATF or CVT gear oil

AoA. Dear brothers need your guidance. I bought Honda City Vario with meter reading as 160,000. There was no issue with the car, however I went for 160,000 check up from Honda Fort Lahore, get it tuned and other necessary parts were changed. The honda fort guys told me that ATF oil was in the gear box which was recently changed. First they asked me to chane it to CVT but then their supervisor came and told to retain ATF oil saying that the gear might start to make noise if we change it from ATF to CVT. So they kept ATF. The car is now 164,000 and running fine. I read in Pak wheels forums that it is necessary to fill CVT oil.
Now I'm confused whether to stick with ATF or change it to CVT and if I change it CVT whether it will start to make noise then i might need to change gearbox?
Expert brothers please guide asap.

W.S. Brother both are altogether separate things! Automatic Transmission (AT) is one thing, Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) is an altogether different thing, and accordingly, they require specific gear / transmission oils. You never pour ATF in a CVT, or CVTF in an AT!

I do not know whether Honda City Vario comes with AT or CVT? However, one thing is for sure; if it comes with AT, then only pour ATF duly approved by Honda for use in your ride, otherwise, if it comes with CVT, then only pour compatible CVTF in your ride.

Pouring CVTF in AT, or ATF in CVT (incompatible transmission oils) is "Gunah-E-Kaabeera"!

Yes! As per @fastian04 its CVT, so in the best interest, good faith and health of your transmission, switch to the compatible CVTF ASAP.

Btw, do you have owners / users manual of your ride? What does it say?

Honda guys need a noble prize. Vario was named due to cvt gear. Cvtf is to be used.

Don't have owner manual. As per suggestion of dear brothers I'll change it to CVTF asap. I'm thankful for your cooperation and guidance.

Well honda fort guys were partially right, they were using ATF in the past for the vario, but ATF-Z1 which no is longer made. Replacement of this was/is ATF-DW1. Is this what they put in?

No clue if it is ok to change to CVTF oil now. Have a look at the variants,

Dear ,
I ruined my City 2004 CVT gear due to usage of ATF gear fluid. for CVT use only CTF oil.
ATF oil is use to reduce resistance between moving parts,
CTF oil is use to provide more resistance between moving parts hense best for CVT.
