I bought a honda city 2004 vario last year around this time with odo reading 90k kms that i know is definitely meter reversed, but the car worked fine until last 2 months or so. It started py showing some errors related to ignition coils i changed them and error went away. When changing coils i thought to change the plugs also. Two of the back side plugs refused to open at first but mechanic was successful opening one of them the other one didn't open and is left unchanged. Now the car has started to overheat temperature goes to 101 - 105 with ac on.(using obd adapter)If ac is turned off it gets better but there is a little pressure in radiator pipes they should be hard as rock instead at boiling temperatures.
Upon inspecting radiator with cap open there are some bubbles coming up in radiator ( that indicates head gasket is gone?)
Engine performance is very sluggish even at 2500rpm it doesn't show any noticeable response.
Now the solution that i came up with is to swap the engine because if i start repairing the old one i have to change alot of components like waterbody head gasket and that one plug that isn't opening and timing chain and definitely there would be many other parts that should be changed because i don't know the engine's service history.
So in my opinion swap would be a good option but i am open to recommendations.
I want to keep this car for atleast two more years. One thing i would like to ask is if i decide to get l15a2 idsi or even l13a idsi would this old transmission work with that engine?
And if someone knows recent prices of engines kindly mention them.
Sorry for this long post. Please do recommend the best possible solution and what to look for while buying an engine or any other recommendations. Thanks
