City does not need any adjustments to tappets... what issue are u facing?

City needs tappets adjustment after 40000km..it does not have hydraulic tappets..if you are not facing any issue then no need to touch it

Bro my 2009 city was never adjusted till 123k kms and car never gave any issues. I doubt these local scientists sittings on road sides and even dealerships

Loud sound of tappets and car fuel average is 15 and in highways 17 but there is sound of tappets when engine is hot i am using castrol magnetic 85k done on odo model 2015 plz guide me does it has shim like corolla 2nzfe like hydraulic lifter or ot can be adjusted manually using guage thanks

Bro city tappets can be adjust manually by guage no need to open head and other things like liquid bla bla..go to dealer ship and get your work done avoid outside ustads they will ruin your car engine.

only the engine top cover will have to be removed. The valve clearances are:

Intake: 0.006–0.007 in. (0.15–0.19 mm)
Exhaust: 0.010–0.012 in. (0.26–0.30 mm)

make sure whoever does it uses the correct gauge thickness.

The valve clearance of Honda City need to be checked and readjusted after every subsequent 25000 Km. The recommended air gap, with the engine at operating temperature is :
Intake 0.28 - 0.30 mm
Exhaust 0.32 - 0.35 mm.
But be noted that every mechanic can not do it. Get the job done by a good known professional.

Hi bro, please verify your clearances. These values are too less for any Honda car engine. They seem to be of motorcycle. Regards.

For the city it says to inspect them after 40k. Even then most of them are within spec, a few might be only marginally out of spec. Plus it should be done on a cold engine.

I have no clue about motorcycle clearances. But used to do it for an accord euro cl9 and clearances are also on the lower side,
Intake: 0.21-0.25 mm (0.008-0.010 in.)
Exhaust: 0.25-0.29 mm (0.010-0.011 in.)

Sincere advice. Don’t touch the tapets, unless you have a problem or pronounced tapet noise. 3S dealerships and most mechanics don’t know how to do it right. Main problem is engine has to be cold to get right setting. Best time to do it is after car has been cooled overnight.
