Honda City fuel average issue

Guys,

I have a 2014 manual 1.3 City. When I purchased it approx. 1.5 year ago, it was on 50K. After purchasing I went for its tuning and body throttle and Honda said that I should get the same done at 80K KM next time. Since my car only runs 18KM per day, so after 1.5 year it is currently at 64K KM. So, I went ahead with tuning and body throttle again from Honda just because last one was done 1.5 year ago and to reach 80K KM would take a long time.

Questions:

1. Was it ok to get tuning and body throttle after 1.5 year/15K KM or should I have waited for 80K Km?
2. Fuel avg in summer with AC as per ODO used to be around 12 KM. After tuning I got fuel tank filled from same pump as always but now avg is not going above 9.7 KM as per ODO. After refilling tank, I reset the meter and now car has done 60KM but same avg.

Frequent tuning will not & cannot increase mileage. You should consider replacing spark plugs and getting the cat cleaning.

Alternatively, add a bottle of fuel system cleaner and run the car at high rpms in lower gear (4000-5000Rpm) for few minutes each time, let the engine blow out all the carbon gunk from its fuel system. This usually restores breathing for free.

Use original air filter its a little costly but it will improve average

Purpose of tuning was not to improve mileage. I have been getting 12KM + mileage since I purchased the car. Only after tunning/body throttle last month the fuel Avg went down to 9.8. I also got the fuel tank refill around same days. so I think may be tunning caused this or may be fuel is not good this time (I always refuel from same pump and never faced same issue before). I will still go with fuel cleaner option, can you suggest any?

Car is totally Honda maintained and changed its air filter with tuning last month from Honda.

air filter has nil effect on milleage. . .even if fully choked. . .its an EFI not a carbourator !!

dont b too judgmental. . .sumtyms we use AC in parked car and it shows less mileage. . .let it go full tank down and see !!

i already did. . .it only effect pick and acceleration but not economy. . .read theory of EFI engines. . .em an engineer. . .the ecu will mix little petrol if air filter has little passage. . .so overall mileage is roughly same but pick drops !!

So in theory if i block the air passage half way i will get 50% increase in economy with drop in acceleration and pick etc. In real life it doesnt happen that way. the more “ideal” set of conditions (temperature, pressure, humidity) the more efficiently ecu will work. Thats why we get the air Venturi cleaned aka throttle body ke safai and always insist on genuine air filter. Moreover in real world, sluggish pick will always lead to bad fuel economy.

u r right in ur point bro. . .em nt suggesting to keep ait filter clogged all the times. . .em saying it doesn't effect mileage. . .yes pick drops. . .and dropping pick will increase economy as same is done in CVT-i adaptive cruise control. . .plus there is nothing like throttle body clean in any honda manuals. . .it can be done but its not essential service !!

I have Honda CITY 2010 Model. I am getting 14KM/PL (If i Drive more than 120 Speed. If I drive 80 to 100 KM Per hour speed, It gives me 17 With AC and 19+ without AC)
Speed also impacts the Fuel Average. You can get maximum mileage if you drive 80 to 90 KM Per hour speed
