I had the opportunity to visit the Honda Dealership on Murree Road to see the new Twister Honda CB250F parked in white colour.
The machine is emasculate, with a muscular look in the 250 category. I did indicate to the dealer that Honda could have streaked the machine with some colour rather than keeping it pure white, which seemingly had a tendency to get dirty.
The tires were a good size not to mention the riding posture. Everything about the motorbike was awesome right from its digital speedometer up to its 30,000km or 3 year warranty.
The dealer indicated that the bike was on limited display, while banks including ASKARI and HBL were ready to finance the motorbike. The only major turn off for me is the price, which is currently at 640,000 without registration. This is close to the Suzuki inazuma (I.e. Rs. 600,000) but way more expensive that the Benelli TNT25 (475,000) both of which have closer brand equity and pretty much the same thing on offer. My two cents for Honda, if they ever want the cb250f to take off, they have to learn to be realistic like Benelli. The Brazil made Twister, currently on offer in the Pakistani Market is in no way a 640k bike, with no add-on options at the premium budget. With limited choice the price seems highly bloated and unrealistic for market entry into an emerging segment.
Till Honda realises a year later like SUZUKI that, the bike is better proposed a 100k rupees cheaper, I think Honda should aggressively reprice and position itself in the 400-450k price segment with the same bike.
