Honda BRV gradual drop in fuel economy

Hi all.
My BRV is a 2017 (Malaysian assembly).
Current mileage 50,000
Fully Synthetic engine Oil.
All filters and lubricants replaced at 5,000 intervals.
CVT oil replaced at 40,000
I am an economic driver (minimum use of brakes, gentle acceleration etc).
Never washed the engine bay. Scared of moisture/vapour locks in connectors.
I used to manage 15Km/L in Islamabad.
It began dropping gradually.
Am now in Karachi and it has progressively dropped to 6~7Km/L.
No loss of power, mind you.
Tried different petrol pumps as well as only hi-octane.
No effect.
I suspect the Oxygen Sensors or the Cat Converter, or maybe both.
Is there a reliable EFT tuning centre in Karachi which has the equipment and knowledge to analyse the exhaust gas, upstream/downstream O2 sensors, Engine Management codes etc?
Kinda dubious about approaching a Honda outlet, but correct me if I am wrong.

Update:
I asked my Zic Service Centre operator, who is an ex Honda employee for his thoughts on the issue.
He first checked for Engine Management System error codes. There were none.
He then informed me that owing to the poor quality of petrol, the fuel injectors may require cleaning, and after that I should look at the O2 sensors and lastly at the CConverter.
Makes sense. Can't understand why I never considered the injectors, considering the fact that while overseas, I got my injectors removed and serviced once a year.
He told me to buy Toyota's injector cleaner, as it was the most reliable, then fill the tank with Hi Octane, after using up the current tank of petrol, and add the cleaner immediately before filling Hi Octane.
He seemed pretty confident of the results.

Will run down the tank and follow his instructions and post the results here, as it may be helpful to someone at some stage.

To be honest I am not sure if it is an injector issue.
Clogged injectors will affect fuel economy, however they should alao affect smooth idling, if I am correct.
The engine idles smoothly.

First of all Karachi traffic is much worse than Islamabad, so some degradation in fuel economy should be expected. Furthermore If catalytic converter is choked it will affect fuel economy, but it will also affect engine performance.

True. However, motorway trip from Islamabad to karachi was as bad in terms of fuel economy.
The engine runs smoothly. This is what I find confusing.
To me, it is increasingly pointing towards a mixture problem. The O2 sensors provide feedback to the Engine Management System, which regulates the mixture and timing. ECMs are pretty reliable and seldom fail. However, O2 sensors get contaminated and will then give incorrect readings back to the ECM system, which in turn will either adjust for a rich or lean mixture.
Thats my thinking, at least.

There can be many reasons for bad fuel economy. If MAF sensor is dirty it will also result in bad fuel economy. Check air filter condition, etc.

Hi, Have same model and facing the same issue, right before the lock down, I was maintaining an average of 12+ within Karachi, daily use was about 25KM. Lockdown started and the car remained parked for many days. the fuel economy went down gradually from 12 to 10, than 9 and these days I'm getting just 8KM/litter which is frustrating. Total millage is less than 34000KM, vehicle is fully maintained at a 3S dealership in Karachi, all periodic checks were done on time and the car is working absolutely fine apart from this fuel average issue. I've tried many pumps with no luck. @pwuser157208169344 I wonder if you've found the issue and its been resolved? let me know bro..

Hi there.
I'm driving to Islbd in a week for a visit. Have booked my car with a German trained young guy who runs a pretty good looking service centre there. He has an ultrasonic fuel injjector cleaner. Will remove and clean all injectors and see if that works. He also has an exhaust gas analyser which will tell us the composition of the exhaust (how much unburnt fuel is expelled).
Next step, if there is no improvement is to remove and check the O2 sensors.
Of course, we will also check the ignition plugs.
Asides from these possibilities, there is a chance the cars computer may have a glitch, which means a reset or a programme upgrade, but that is at the bottom of the list.
The Toyota branded injector cleaner that I used a couple of weeks ago did not improve my fuel economy

I will add something here.
Petrol has a shelf life. As it gets older it developes Resins which can foul your plugs and sensors. It also does not ignite fully in the piston chamber.
Thats why it is a good idea to fill only as much as you expect to use in two or three weeks before it needs refilling.
Here is a Copy/Paste of an article on Petrol.
"Like a wine without a cork, gas can go bad when it sits around mingling with air. Fuel actually starts to turn nasty after 30 days. I have an issue with my cars fuel monitoring system. When I start the car its cluster shows zero range. But the Fuel cells are OK. I re filled my car after some days my cars fuel range is showing zero but cells are full. Can some body please help me out

Hope you're doing good.

I myself have a 2018 s variant brv on which I have done 55k km and lately it has become a gas guzzler.

Did you manage to get the issue fixed.
Mime is given 7.5kmpl in city and 11ish on highway.
Pretty pathetic, that too with a very light foot.
My cousin has a 2017 model s variant 27k done and it gives him 12 in city and 16+ on highways.

I don't know what's wrong. Recently got my throttle cleaned and cat done too to resolve this issue. Power performance wise it got a little better, but consumption wise its still pathetic.

Let me know if you found out a solution to this problem.

Did u get the injectors and intake manifold cleaned
Bc due to low quality of fuel brv injectors are prone to get little clogged
Which affects the fuel combustion there by a decrease in efficiency
Ill attach photos of a brv with a dirty intake manifold
