My car's mechanic says that to use Caltex coolant mixed with ac water is best for rust and in performance. I am amazed on his point of view about ac drained water, but want to know if its something logical or useless? Thanks
AC water is very close to distilled water as it shows TDS value of 002 to 005.Total dissolved solids(TDS)Normal tap water TDS=045Distilled water TDS=000AC water TDs=002 to 005 ragarding its use in radiators i cannot say anything.I think some chamical engr may help you.
if its' tds is close to distilled water then might be used in ac coolant.lets c what other's opinion is?
Yes it can be used. Because the amount of coolant in radiator should be 50 : 50 with distilled water. The AC water can act as the distilled water. In some cases its even better.. usually shopkeepers re pack distilled water containers with normal water.
ur mechanic is right.. however i thought caltex was ready to pour?
i use the AC drain water in batteries n its good n abundantly aval for freeee! Use the aabe zam zam containers to store n use it all yr round! Coming to ur question yes its better to use it as maj of distilled water aval in market aint pure.
But the pipes, stuff and storage containers should be absolutely clean with no contamination dust particles coming down from the radiator core of the ac
I didnt use any water while using caltex coolant :S
what i do, i tape the ac water pipe to a clean plastic bottle.(tape it so that no dust goes in). i use the water for my ups batteries
big mistake - running at 100% will overheat the engine badly - pure coolant cannot absorb heat. Its meant for rust prevention, the cooling part is water
Yep - its used nearly everywhere like that - PH should be checked though
Can i use my AC drain water in my UPS battery?????
i use only pure water in my car's radiator. How abt that?
Its been more than 10 months now and I have driven twice out of city. Once more than 500 km at stretch and never faced any overheat issues.
Should I drain some and add water or should I let it remain as it is ?
A/C water can be used for in car/UPS battery and with radiator coolant. Its pure and reliable distilled water.
I am using it for this purpose for past 2-3 years. In fact store it in bottles in the car trunk ...
